South Lake Resort located in Koggala is just 15 minutes drive (11km) from Unawatuna and 30 minutes (19km) from the famous city of Galle making it the perfect place to relax whilst enjoying the more popular tourist destinations. The property is situated on the main Galle – Matara Road and is adjacent to the Koggala Lake with access to its own private beach with a Bar and lounging facilities. The Resort offers 20 Chalet type luxury air-conditioned rooms around a large pond and 4 chalets overlooking the swimming pool with private balconies. The spacious restaurant with it’s open kitchen caters to all palettes with either buffet meals or ‘a la carte options. The Hotel also has a fully stocked Bar and snack menu. The Resort also has a Banquet Hall with a capacity of 200 -250pax, making it an ideal venue for weddings or corporate gatherings / conferences etc.

Reviewed By Katie PI’m so happy that this restaurant was opened, because of covid everything is closed and it’s really hard to find a nice place to eat. We had an amazing lunch here. Chicken curry and pizza was really tasty and the staff are really kind and nice . We’ll definitely come back ! ?

Reviewed By qatarkiwifamilyThe resort is a 10 minute walk from the beach and because of this the garden setting is extremely quiet, not to mention spacious and green. We thought this was a bonus. A tuk tuk is easily available to get you to the beach. We were two families wanting to relax, spend time at the beach and visit Galle etc. Madoldu suited our needs perfectly. We had three rooms and two balconies which gave us extra space to play cards, share snacks and enjoy the views. We also enjoyed the pool. It is good value for money and Sunil is extremely helpful. He arranges anything for you. We had a few very good, simple meals there. The Sri Lankan breakfast is more varied than the continental which is basically toast and fruit. We had a great server/helper when we were there and he and Sunil made us feel well looked after.

Jungle feels close to Kalabana Beach! Excellent!
Reviewed By shbetty_I stayed at the Venus Villa for 3 nights. The place itself is a hidden gem far from the loud main street, but still close to the beach/surf spot the rock. The room was clean and the stuff always helpful and super friendly. They made me feel very welcome! Also, I took two really good Yoga classes at the Nuga House, where you can grab coffee and delicious food as well. If i wasn’t traveling on a budget, I’d probably stay there longer! Such a nice place!

Reviewed By claredukeWe had the deluxe double bedroom with private balcony and a bit of sea view. Incredible good value for money.Clean, large comfortable bed, cool and a rather fabulous bathroom! Just need a kettle and some hooks and hangers for clothes and it would be perfect. Lovely swimming pool is a bonus.Friendly staff too .
