Nice but over-controlling owner
Reviewed By NatureGuyDECHWe stayed here for two nights. The location is excellent with a very nice view of Mt. Fuji. Like all hotels and Ryokans in Japan, it is up to the same standard nothing out of the ordinary. Check in was not the friendliness ever. We felt like the owner was a. dictator. We are paying guests. Bath-time was regulated. We had to sign up when we should take our bath and no bath in the morning- only at night at our signed up slot. Breakfast was the same. 8 sharp. dinner was the same. We had to be back in the inn by 10 pm. It was too much. I would highly not recommend to stay here unless you like to be controlled by the most unfriendly owner in the whole of Japan. We are not children and we paid for our stay. There are plenty of places to stay at Lake Kawaguchiko.

富士山スポットの大石公園から徒歩1分！
Reviewed By shota1815富士山と河口湖の絶景スポットで有名な大石公園から徒歩1分と近いため、早朝6:30に起きても、逆さ富士を眺めることができました。初めは駅から遠いと感じましたが、レッドラインのバス停やハナテラスからも近いため、ゆっくりするには最高のロケーションだと思います！ また、大スクリーンでサッカーの試合を見れて感動しました。 スタッフもフレンドリーで、おすすめの観光スポットなどを教えて頂きました。色々なイベントも開催してるそうなので、機会があればまた泊まりに来たいです。

A room with a view on the Fuji !
Reviewed By jcbolayA small guest house headed by a friendly owner who will come for you at the railway station and bring you home, a little bit far of the center of the city. For 70 euros you will have a comfortable room with 2 prepared futons, a small balcony and a wonderful view on the Fuji. Shower and restroom are shared among 3-4 rooms and a typical Japanese breakfast is included. A + is free bikes for the customers and a - is the kitschy deco of the room. A nice opportunity in this place, and an owner who will advise you warmly on what to do in the region. (Excellent support at the tourist office in the station)

Reviewed By Footprints805042古民家をリノベーションしたお宿です。一日一組貸し切りが基本だそうです。今回はランチ利用で訪問しました。ランチ営業は土・日・月のみで、限定数だけですから、事前に予約しておいた方がいいと思います。内容は自家栽培のお野菜たっぷりの、滋味あふれるおいしいお料理です。駅や主要観光スポットからはちょっと離れているので車でないと行きにくいです（一応、市営バスもあります）が、町屋亭の周辺は古い集落の面影が残っており、また谷戸城址・金生遺跡・考古資料館も徒歩圏にあり、歴史に興味のある方には楽しいエリアです。またこのエリアは南アルプス・富士山・八ヶ岳の眺望がすばらしく、散策も楽しいです。市営温泉までも徒歩５分くらい。DJ店長のいる「ひまわり市場」も徒歩５分です。

One of the best stays in Japan
Reviewed By Eva CMy husband and I stayed at Yabukiso for one night while traveling throughout Japan. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Asuki, our host. She was very sweet and gave us tons of recommendations for lunch. We talked to her for quite a while and told her about our issues with getting to our train station the next morning. After leaving and having a wonderful time in town we returned to Asuki not only greeting us and offering us tea but also telling us she would be happy to drive us to our Station! It was such a relief and truly made us feel very cared for. We also just happen to be staying on a day when you could see Mt. Fuji perfectly - which is actually right behind Yabukiso, providing a beautiful view for guests to sit and enjoy. This property was beautiful and was even more so because of those who run it! If you stay in Lake Yamanaka you must stay here!

Mom Yuko loves Japanese antique, such as dishes, glasses, and lacquerware. Her collection is enormous. You can use any of her collection for your meals. You can help us plate your meals on her antique ceramic dishes while listening to bird songs. Dinner is served around Japanese hearth in night breeze. Drinking local sake from her antique ceramic cup is a very special experience! Our local water is slightly alkaline PH7.4 spring water from the mountains. The hardness of the water is 52.4 ppm, soft to slightly hard water. Around 50 ppm is considered very delicious water. (Metropolitan Water District of Southern California has an average hardness of 230 ppm, Western Europe has very high hardness greater than 270 ppm ) Please enjoy our place with all of your 5 senses. The house is a traditional 150 year old Japanese house. Please do not go to the upstairs. You can use any room downstairs. We have a separate library/lounge area with toilet that you can use as an extra bedroom across the garden from the main house. We hope you will make lifetime memories at our place in Chikahagi.

I consider this house to be the best accommodation I have ever stayed, I have no words to describe how beautiful people are behind this pension. Keita, Miki and Yuko-san are the most beautiful, kind and genuine people I have ever met. It was simply love at first sight. The house is a traditional japanese one, with beautiful touches and extraordinary people. During our just 3 days stay the hosts make us feel like friends instead of guests. We’ve had half board, and both breakfast and dinner were amazing, best food I have ever been eaten. My wife is vegan and she felt like in a never ending fairytale. The landscape is simply stunning, with green mountains and a close lake to visit. During our visit Japan has been hit by a very powerful typhoon and the hosts took care of us by transferring us to the biggest city nearby, and booked in our behalf a nice safe hotel to accommodate in. And provided free transfer. We’ve had experienced countless beautiful touches with the feeling of genuinely. Arigato goziemas Keita, Miki and Yuko-san! You are simply amazing and we love you so much!

Reviewed By GlobeTrotting811309土曜日の午後に来るまで向かう。 来る途中は身延川沿を走るので、とても心地よい。 駐車場も広く、既に10台以上ある。 当日は真夏日だった事もあり、露天の掛け流しの浴槽が極上。本当に心地良すぎて、尿意を催しそうになる。 お湯は少しヒンヤリするが、微硫黄臭で少し青みがかった透明。トロッとした触り心地。しばらく浸かってると泡が付く。 ただ、やはり極上なだけに源泉口近くは1.2時間粘ったぐらいじゃ座れない。 基本的に混んで流ので、ノンビリ浸かるには何か工夫が必要と思われる。

Wonderful hospitality
Reviewed By KW_Leong123We stayed here in November for 3 nights. Its a charming Ryokan with all the traditional trappings. What makes the difference is the incredible hospitality of the hosts. Our daughter was sick with a fever during our stay. The host extended us an incredible amount of help (she let us have a thermometer, ice packs, cold compress.... etc etc) She even carried an ice box to our room door, so I didnt have to keep going downstairs to get ice. Wonderful lady! Every night the dinner served was just exceptional. Even though the host didnt speak English, we were able to communicate.

Reviewed By mapoi731皮膚疾患に良いとされる富士の麓からの霊水をたっぷり堪能できる宿泊施設。全国から霊水を求めて来る程です。 お風呂は男女別風呂に加えて皮膚疾患のある人用の男女別風呂があるので、安心して湯治に専念できるようです。 食堂もありそのご飯が美味しい、安い！ 町営だからが通年通して宿泊料金が一律で助かります。
