Awesome owner, good location.

Stayed there only for a night, the room is not the bigger I have seen, but the comfort in the bunk beds is fair. Walking distance to city center. The real plus is the owner which is a nice person, help and entertainment are really appreciated ! All of that in a nice traditional Japanese house.

Minsyuku Getto

good clean place in central Naha

Reviewed By CrimsonKookaburra

Enjoyed my stay here - it's close to the main shopping street, but far enough away to be away from the noise and bustle, and a short walk away from the nearest monorail station. Had a private room that was spacious - though as is typical for these type of rooms, a tiny table. No tatami floor, but wood paneling instead. Clean sheets, towels, and one of those sticky lint remover things (but used to clean the floor) are provided (self-service) every 2 days. Only complaint is that for 5 rooms, there was only one toilet and one shower, and for some reason the bathroom sink had no hand soap (though the shower has bath gel and shampoo). Also is a small kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, and kettle.

Reviewed By toshio.ymd

At entrance, my 1st impression was, what a nice and clean inn! Two floored structure and its design, white color based paint, green lawn garden well maintained, swimming pool etc., made me feel that I came to a high-end condo in California. A room, one of two in the inn, I stayed was very clean, designed not to be too much, yet with high quality water bed, a wide and big basin in washroom, jet bass bath tub etc., all of which impressed me with a good sense of the owner Inaba san and his wife Miyoko. Ocean view from a large terrace refreshed me much to regain power and I felt hungry soon after. Dinner at nearby Hawaiian restaurant HANAHOU, about 5 minutes by car was good and not too expensive. After enjoying wine and awamori, a local drive act service costed only 1,000 Yen and helped my budget control. As a morning jogging fan, a run toward next village Onnason round trip about 4 kilos alongside East China Sea was a moment of my best life! Would like to return here definitely. Thank you a lovely couple the owner Inaba san and his wife Miyoko.

Blend of Modern Minimalism and Traditional Japanese Design at Exceptional B & B on Okinawa’s Southern Coast

Reviewed By TravelingKennedy

The B & B Kaiza exceeded all expectations. We arrived at dusk, and our first impression was oshare (“oh shah ray”) which is a Japanese word for “stylish.” It did not take long to notice numerous little details woven into the halls, rooms and facade which result in a blend of modern minimalism and traditional Japanese design set against the backdrop of a tropical forest. Kaiza is perched in the hills overlooking the main island of Okinawa’s southernmost coast. At low tide coral reefs become visible. We were given a refreshing welcome drink made from locally grown shikuwasa which is a type of lemon. After getting a chance to chat with the owners and get some recommendations for dinner, we were shown our room. There are only four simple rooms at Kaiza along with a large, communal indoor shower room that can be locked when in use. There is also a large—yet private—rotenburo, an outdoor bath, that is reserved simply by turning the wooden sign by the door from vacant to occupied. An adjoining addition with a built-in kitchen that is big enough for a family is also now available. Although Kaiza does not serve dinner, we were provided with a map of nearby restaurants that give special service to the guests of Kaiza. We chose a local sushi restaurant called Tsune that is obviously a favorite of many locals. It is just a short drive away, and, if necessary, a daiko taxi service is available for a small fee (approximately 1,500 JPY) in case of too many drinks! Two drivers come to get you. One drives their own car, while the other drives your car back to the hotel. Breakfast was, like everything else at Kaiza, a relaxing experience. It was a mixture of Japanese and Western cuisine complete with freshly baked bread. Just a short walk down the hill toward the beach is a quaint restaurant called Yama-no-Chaya that is another quiet, relaxing place to take in nature. The owner has decorated her beautiful restaurant with the works of local artist Nozu Tadaichi whose enchanting oil paintings depict his childhood memories of life in rural Okinawa. They really remind one of the Ghibli classic Tonari-no-Totoro, and each includes a semi-hidden spirit from the woods. We were not expecting such a pleasant introduction to Okinawa and would definitely return to Kaiza!

Wouldn't stay here again

Reviewed By Thom_and_Leo

Stayed in room no1 for 2 nights, (private tatami style, next to the shower) Pros: - Room has a/c. - Kitchen available for guest use - We were allowed to stay in communal area for several hours after check out. - Free washing machine. - Free tea and coffee. - The main receptionist speaks English fluently, far above Japanese average. - Large supermarket a 10' walk away. - Free washing machine. - Outdoor area with hammock. Cons: - Very noisy: thin walls, staff doesn't respect nor enforce the no noise beyond 23:30 policy. - The room (no 1) is right next to the shower. Expect to hear it as if you'd be inside, including bumping sounds whenever shower head is hooked back into its holder. People showered past midnight and before 7. The sound can't be bypassed with earplugs. - Cockroaches entered the room, dirty place, not cleaned regularly. A/C emitted a strong dusty/mouldy smell - In the middle of nowhere, far away from the beach (20' walk)

Very good value

I stayed with my kid. He played with a dog & a cat of this inn, and I drunk with the owner. He is very friendly. The room is simple and clean, you can take shower or a bath outside. The room is located at 2nd floor, no elevator, only stairs. The inn is on the small island, very quiet place. The accommodation fee is cheap, it's very good deal. There is a beautiful beach near this inn, just 10 minutes walk from here. Also you can find nice restaurants around here, I went to Kinokawa, 10 minutes from the inn by car.

Reviewed By Regnbue

Japanese B&B with great city view

Reviewed By autumncs

This Japanese bed & breakfast is located near Shuri Castle (5-10 min walk). It's a 15 min walk from Gibo monorail station or 20 min walk from Shuri station. For those who drives, there is parking space for 3 cars. The entrance is one floor below the main road. Despite the location next to a traffic junction, the place is quiet most of the time. The B&B is on a high ground so there are great views of the city. My room is Japanese style, so I have to make my own futon (sleeping quilts) on the tatami mat floor. My room is clean and there is free wifi. There is a toilet beside my room and the bathing room is on the ground floor. The owner is very friendly and she can speak English. At night she prepared towels for bathing and in the morning she prepared breakfast (Japanese style with rice, fish, tofu, vegetables and miso soup). The experience is like staying in a Japanese home. Good value for money.
