Great guest houseand amazing hosts
Reviewed By נגה סThe room was very clean and nice, AC worked very good and the hot water in the shower too. The location of the guest house is good, all buses go through there and there is a nice pub right next to it. But the best part was the amazing family that hosted us, they took care of everything we needed and looked after us, they also took us to a nice cheap tour and drove us with his tuktuk with no charge to the golden temple. More over the host is a great cook, tasting his sri lankan breakfast and rice&curry is a must! Highly recommended!

The hotel is just ten minutes' drive from the Dambulla rock temple, Dambulla town or the Cricket stadium, and just twenty to thirty minutes from Sigiriya or to Habarana from where you can have an elephant safari at the Minneriya Sanctuary. Ideal for relaxing evenings after visiting the ancient cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, which are just around an hour and a half away. The hotel is built in a very quiet and picturesque location along the Dambulu Oya river. Our restaurant specialises in Sri Lankan and Asian fusion but can offer a wide range of other options. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms and in most common areas including around the outdoor pool. All rooms have patios where you can sit and relax and take in the nature after a busy day sightseeing. We give our staff one simple instruction which should be adhered to above all others, 'ensure that all guests have a wonderful stay.' Ask for help in organizing your travels or even any special dietary requirements. Special meals for kids are absolutely not a problem.

Reviewed By Stanley KIt was really a comfortable and memorable stay at Dambulu Oya Family Park. It is well located with in close proximity to the sacred temples and to Dambulla Town. The Manager Mr. Roshan and the staff were really helpful and friendly. The most important thing is the food they provided. It was well prepared and delicious. Certain ares needs development in upkeep and maintenance. I would recommend this Hotel for any local or a foreigner.

Hotel is located in between Sigiriya rock fortress(9km) and Dambulla rock temple(5km). Anytime can get a bus to above places. We have 3 comfortable rooms with AC/Hot water/Free parking/Free wifi/Garden/Kitchen/Washing machine and +++.We can arrange airport shuttle service/Day tours/Budget taxi(budgettaxisrilanka.com). Here owner Neil is an experienced tour guide.So you can get his advise.
The best hospitality

Minor thing was that the tap was not properly fixed on( still useable though) and a couple of nails that were lifting, but not to a dangerous level. But the good really outweighs the bad, the breakfast every morning was really good, very fresh, the pool and rooms were neat and clean. It's a quiet spot that felt like we were the only ones there sometimes and the pool was excellent. The hospitality of the owners was amazing, they drove us everywhere recognised and organised any activity and the meals at the site were excellent.

Don't buy trips from the owner
Reviewed By piotrkosinskiThe owner is very nice person but a little bit talkative. Don't buy any trips he's offering-overpriced. F.ex. we payed for renting safari jeep 4000 ruppies more than other tourists bought it. Also don't go to the spice garden he is offering bacause it is a SCAM. They show you some spices, treat you with a glass of tea and after that they are showing you they products which are extremely overpriced f.ex. aloe vera gel ovethere is 3800 rupies and in souvenirs store in Mirissa same gel is 800 rs. I thing that owner of family nest gets profits from this SCAM. Be carreful and don't go to the trips with him.

Disappointing
Reviewed By Sahan777Me & my family stayed in a room here, just for 4 hrs & at the booking ,the manager told that even i'm staying just 4 hrs, we have to pay the full amount for a full day stay. we agreed & we were there for 4 1/2 hrs. So when i'm leaving & going to pay the bill, manager asked for more additional amount since we stayed 1/2 hr more. when we were booking , according to the manager, it's just like full day stay & when checking out, ask for additional amount for 1/2 hr. what a shame & unfair. They are in a level that trying to grab even a single rupee from guests.Actually it was a weekday & there wasn't even a single booking on that day. So this incident was really disappointing .

Clean Room
Reviewed By SVK-MarekThe room was very clean, all toiletries provided, very calm area, with a nice common room and patio for friends to sit in the evening together. The host was nice but we got better services for better price at other local guesthouses (eg.dinner, brekfast, safari tour - would recommend to book outside the house at locals). Every morning we had frogs in the room :). And the host helped us when we needed to print sone documents, he also lent us his PC. Thanks a lot. The only downside was that he was more business-focused compared to other hosts.

Reviewed By purziborI stayed at Lark Lodge for two nights with my husband and everything was perfect. I am hygiene obsessed and it is not easy to please me especially in a budget accommodation in South and Central Asia. This lodge is spotless clean, no dust, shiny clean tiles floor, prefect white spotless sheets and very good firm mattress, hot water and very clean bathroom. Fantastic hosts very kind and helpful, they made us try a delicious Srl Lanka breakfast. Dambulla is a very small town, location is just opposite the cave temple entrance and 15 minutes walk or 3 minute by Tuk Tuk from the few restaurants. I would definitely come back here and recommend this lodge.
