Convenient to the station a plus, but we paid extra for a very nice room. Two large windows and a great view. Staff seem pleasant enough but when we asked for some instant coffe as the amenities small counter didn’t have any left, they wanted my name and room. Did they really think someone would walk off the street and ask for two packs of poor tasting instant coffee?

They Are Trying Hard but...
Reviewed By LenTukwilaI want to commend the hotel to doing so many things well and trying hard to be welcoming... the problem was (and maybe this is just when we visited) was a lot of loud obnoxious guests. For example: They are offer free ramen, coffee in lobby, a neat onsen oasis, plus handy laundry facilities - so thumbs up. However, many/most patrons in the onsen didn't understand the normal procedures and customs even though there were signs. Again, the hotels are trying hard but just keep in mind was hectic, loud and crowded, plus the rooms are small. Good price and pleasant staff. Fine unless you are a bit sensitive to noise and commotion.

Reviewed By Jen80811It’s around 3 mins walk to Toyama station! (Really close) with 7-11 downstairs. Room wasn’t so bad, the bathroom was spacious ! The bed was also comfy. Would stay here the next time if we come to Toyama again!

Reviewed By bettyIllinoisPersonnel friendly and accommodating. Hotel lobby restaurant seems always busy with tour groups and locals. Many options on breakfast buffet. I can not recommend the lunch buffet, over priced cafeteria experience. Japanese restaurant on 5th floor is average but excellent service. Roof top bar has a good view of sunset, a good selection of whiskey and well trained bar tender makes excellent cocktails. Our two rooms were clean and one room faced the castle which really was a beautiful view. Loved the idea of large container toiletry dispensers. Large under ground parking garage. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and museums.

Reviewed By WooMoosAndWawasThe hotel is located near the train station, which is great. Clean, very small and basic. For the price, it’s alright. The aircon is being centralised, so we couldn’t adjust the temperature or the wind flow to our liking. It became really stuffy at some point and we had to depend on the air purifier to create some “wind”. We meet 3 front desk staff throughout the 2 nights stay - 2 of them weren’t looking too happy to serve us. The other younger looking lad looked more friendly and sincere and spoke slightly better English compared to the other 2. We tried to get our luggages delivered to either Ogizawa or Nagano but they couldn’t do it (I know they can’t send it to Nagano anymore because of some new arrangement but I did not expect that they can’t send it to Ogizawa too). So they advised us to arrange the delivery at Dentetsu Toyama station instead, which luckily we were in time to do so (before 9.30am). Upon checking in, I asked the front desk before if they could help to send my luggages and i was only told to bring down our luggages upon checking out so I thought there shouldn’t be any issues. I wished they could query us further like asking me where do I need to send them to and recommend the timing to bring down our luggages. We could have potentially missed the cut off time of sending our luggages at Dentetsu Toyama Station if we were to check out later, after knowing that the hotel can’t send them to Ogizawa.

Reviewed By WEKPFound this hotel on Agoda but not on Booking. It is a typical Japanese budget hotel. Comfortable but no frills. WiFi is good and only about 6 minutes to Toyama station. Breakfast was good and precautions were taken for Covid.

Reviewed By GanLGreat location as near the train station and Toyama castle. To get to the castle, after exiting the hotel, turn left, walk straight on for some 100m , then cross the road. By then you can see the river. Just follow the river and you will arrive at the castle. Next to the castle is a public park, an ideal green area in the city to take a morning walk. As we were international guests, the hotel staff gave us free tram tickets to use to get around Toyama. Spacious and comfortable room. Quiet environment to pass the night. Fast, free open wifi. One can have free coffee to drink in the lounge. Nice, spacious lounge with many sofas to sit and relax / to while away time/ to wait for friends.

Reviewed By GenkiSudo1We had to cancel our trip at short notice to Takayama due to trainline landslides so we asked at the station information for a cheap overnight hotel nearby. The APA Eki-Mae is what we got. Although it's only about ~600metres from the station - at 1:30pm in debilitating summer heat/humidity hauling luggage all the way it seemed like miles! The hotel was okay-ish and front desk staff not particularly engaging - almost disinterested. We had to get 2 rooms for self, wife and child - definitely won't fit 3. As a typical business hotel the rooms were very cramped yet functional - and the double bed was more of a large flimsy single. There was a single tiny coin washing machine and coin dryer in the mens public bath. Couldn't find the vending machines but they must have been there somewhere. There are no convenience stores (or any stores) in the immediate vicinity - you have to walk about ~600m back towards the station. Unremarkable hotel - wouldn't bother returning.
