Reviewed By Toru OStayed here during my business trip to Okayama. The hotel is owned by the JR Group and can be accessed directly from Okayama station without going outside. The hotel is nicely furnished and offers all the basic amenities you need. It would have been nice if they had a desk and more table space to put your belongings. An onsite laundromat would have been great if you're staying for several days. Located close to Aeon shopping mall and Don Quijote, offering convenience when shopping for everyday goods or even souvenirs. They have an indoor pool which you can use for an extra 1300 yen or so.

If you pay over $200 per night for 2 people, you might find a better hotel as the room is small and has poor amenities. I felt a person next room moves around my head board. I don’t recommend it if couples stay relaxed.

Reviewed By cr765Location is very good, but for comfort and overall experience I'm sure you can do better. We booked well in advance and as a couple found the room too small. The double bed was against the window, making it difficult to exit. Breakfast was adequate but not inviting. Coffee machine in foyer a bonus along with the Family Mart on the corner nearby. English is not a strong point and other resources need to be used to find your way with tours and food. The walking tour around the Edo town is recommended, to help understand the history of Kurashiki.

Reviewed By IxChel3300While this hotel is good, I’m not sure what all the rave is about. The room was ok, but the bathroom was very small and cheap looking. The staff were nice and the breakfast was decent. Just not seeing how this is five stars. With that said, I wouldn’t tell folks not to stay here, but wouldn’t “highly recommend” it either.

Basic but central
Reviewed By TracyH1The hotel is very central to the train station - you can walk from the station underground, or check in around the corner from the BIC main entrance. I was using this hotel as a base for Naoshima and Matsue, so wasn't expecting anything luxurious. I was early, but the hotel held my bags for me. The staff were friendly. The room was fairly basic (I was on level 8) , but it is a business hotel so I wasn't expecting a lot. On check in you elected tea/coffee and were given a sachet for etc day of your stay (no milk though). The bathroom was clean, although there is a step into the bathroom, so if you have mobility issues, this would be a factor. The hotel was very quiet. There was a central area with microwave, washing machine, vending machines. The room was dated with no usb or international charging facilities. Being restricted to selecting tea or coffee at the beginning of your stay made it difficult. The room had stains on the walls from luggage.

Good hotel with signs of aging
Reviewed By guneingdoeAs a budget business hotel, it has all the basics offered- a comfortable sleep, basic amenities, in-room wifi and free breakfast. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast which had a reasonably wide selection of Western and Japanese food, as welll as fruits. Free coffee is also available during the day. The room is a bit too small and it has shown some signs of aging, such as wallpaper peeling off. However, it is still very clean and tidy. In terms of location, it is a stone's throw away from the main sights of Okayama, that is the Korakuen Garden and Okayama Castle. It is also a comfortable 15-min walk to the main station, or about 5min by the tram.

Convenient, functional and clean
Reviewed By walton_rebeccaIn excellent position near railway station. Just 150m. Not so easy to find. It’s inside a block, 6th and 7th floor. It needs more signage but if you see prominent signs for large bookshop then follow those. They lead to the hotel also. Everything worked well, the room was well equipped and the en-suite spotless. Breakfast was not exciting. There was variety but even food meant to be hot, like scrambled eggs or hot dog sausages were allowed to go cold. However it saved wandering from street to street to locate something better elsewhere. The public bathing facilities for women are really excellent. And I used convenient washing and drying machines. Recommend as a base for day trips out of Okayama.

Reviewed By supermilnePros: - the only pro I can think of is the location. It’s a 10 minute walk to the main station and there’s a 7-11 around the corner. Cons: - dirty walls and musty smell - old furniture - half of the staff were unhelpful and abrasive - very thin walls - can only have one key and it has to be handed over the counter every time you leave - uncomfortable bed and pillows - small and cramped room for two people The only reason we were here was because our travel agent booked us here. If we had read reviews or done our own research, I would not have gone here. AVOID.

Reviewed By kaminariLLCI booked this hotel last-minute due to issues at the previous hotel I was at. The front-desk agents were professional and friendly. Rooms were cozy with a really comfortable bed. During my stay I ended up with a really bad headache around 1am when all the stores were closed, however the front desk provided me with medicine. Exceptional service with a great location.
