Reviewed By Juan57Nice room price was as expected for Punta del Este.Best resort in the southern cone but worst hotel prices, as may happen in other resorts. Very cool room on to the street 32 degrees outside but very cool , I guess it was still dragging the winter effect. Bathroom was ok and has a 99%( no shuko) universal socket for all electric plugs, never seen that before. Close to everything in La barra walking distance from beach for those on foot. The bed could of been better nice size but hard in the middle. The only thing really disliked was ben charged in advance, for 2 o 3 runa ways you cant treat everyone as crooks. That said I asked for an extra hour to check out and got it.The reception guy was very nice. BTW remember La Barra is 20 minutes ( ni traffic) away from Punta del Este

Reviewed By OC255This hotel is located in the 1,200 acre property of Las Piedras, a gate guarded community just outside of Punta del Este. This vast master-planned community offers every amenity you could possibly want: miles of walking and biking trails; a helipad, a private airstrip. a golf course, 4 tennis courts, stables, an indoor and outdoor arena; 3 restaurants; a private beach club, shooting range, polo field and spa. The hotel is small and there are bungalows for rent, as well as private bungalows and homes, all in a sleek architectural style that disappear into the undulating terrain. The staff at the hotel was very professional and courteous. And, the food was delicious. This is a very special place that is relaxing or as active as you want.

The service level and attention to detail and our needs was exceptional. Warm and friendly, they helped us plan our days. The setting of thé casa is perfectly situated between the two charming villages of Barra and Manantiales and thé rooms were very comfortable, well appointed and oozing charm. Breakfast was generous, homemade and wonderfully fresh. I cannot say enough. We had a terrific stay.

Great hotel, service not so good
Reviewed By Juan Pablo OWe stayed for one night on our way to Montevideo from Rocha. The hotel looks very nice, our room was very spacious, high ceiling, plenty of light and a balcony overlooking the pool. We were not explained anything about the facilities, breakfast. The reception team was not particularly friendly. In the afternoon we decided to ask about the Spa and one of the guys at reception said. "You are not staying with us right"? Well... yes we are, we are not passer by people enquiring about the Spa. Not impressed at all. We came across 2 or 3 members of staff who were welcoming and helpful. I would suggest the management to train the staff on manners and how to make your paying guests feel welcome and willing to come back. We have stayed in much cheaper hotels in Punta del Este and felt 100 times more welcome. Sometimes less is more.

The house is a restored villa right on Maldonado string with an exquisite taste and amenities of any kind for those who look for a quiet, home like location to spend a weekend, a night or a couple of days. Every corner of the house offers a bit of the family story, design items, comfort seating area for a coffee or cocktail, inside the house or in any of the outside lounge areas it offers. While restaurant is not available onsite, they would make any recommendations for delivery or take in, provide the necessary serving items for you to enjoy an unforgettable meal. We walked though the house and yard couple of times and you always find items to stare at for a while and river looks over the infinity pool you won’t easily forget. It’s also located in the middle of la barra, right in front of a gas station with a shop as a convenience store and walking distance from the great la barra shops also offer anything from clothing, food, souvenirs or deco stores. Breakfast was served with a great selection for fresh fruit, yoghurt , pastries and other items like lavazza espresso and tea, not to forget there natural orange juice, real orange juice. A couple of days you won’t forget about. If cold, there’s a cozy corner with a fire wood chimney will enhance your stay making you feel like you’re in the middle of the mountains. The place also has an patio dining area with a wood fire pizza oven and Uruguayan style grill. All items are available for self grilling as well.

Reviewed By footloose111Huge rooms confidently designed with colour and panache. Hugo the owner, in his 80s, is an ex fashion designer and it shows in the aesthetic. This is his home and it feels that way, especially with his 2 lovely dogs befriending guests. Charming staff (not much English, but Hugo speaks fluently), good breakfasts and a delightful small pool. Located across from the beach, on the edge of a very smart residential area. So much nicer than the horrid, high-rise concrete boxes on offer in Punta del Este, a 10 minute drive away.

What a wonderful place
Reviewed By tony kWalter is the owner of this place. He is warm. Caring and makes sure his guest get great attention. Walter really goes out of his way. I wanted a scooter and he got me one right away without a contract. He's very open, caring and trusting. He deserves everyone's business. The place is relaxed. Comfortable and clean. The town is a little isolated this time of year but It's really great. Lots of nice people come and stay and its very communal. And let's not forget Luis and David.. the staff. They are all amazing people.

Reviewed By Daniel IIt's a modern hostel in "shipping-container style". There are private rooms with bathroom, besides the usual shared accomodations. Quiet and safe neighbourhood, but no parking space. Private rooms are spacious and clean, with minimalist and smart furniture. The lady in charge is extremely helpful and friendly. Liked very much.
