Reviewed By Hiroki Y2020年のある時期に、この手の看板を掲げた人々は、目撃者によって永遠に記録・保管されるという代償を払っていただきたい。 キャンプというのは元来、不要不急である。100％ゴリゴリのレジャーである。 お上の外出自粛要請なるものを大人しく聞き入れるのなら、大分県民であろうが、それ以外であろうが、予約を受け入れないというのがスジだ。 不要不急のキャンプにやって来た大分県民はＯＫで、同じく不要不急のキャンプにやって来た県外客はＮＧというのは、いったいどういう理屈か。 大分県民を受け入れるだけなら、近所の目も厳しくならないし、そこそこ日銭も稼げるという思惑なんでしょう、どうせ。 しかし、平時にここを訪れるであろう未来のキャンパーたちの参考までに、この看板だけはサーバーに残しておきたい。

Reviewed By Julie LThe room we stayed in was very spacious and allowed us to experience the traditional japanese bedding. There were also two beds for those who choose not to sleep the traditional way. There is a convenient store located just at the bottom of the hill (the hotel sits on top of the hill). The breakfast and dinner weren't so bad. But what left the biggest impression for me was their mascot: Angel. Angel, who competed and won 2nd place in a dog competition, sits at the front doors welcoming guests.♡

Reviewed By Angsty8160Spa Greeness is really great value for what you get. We had the basic Japanese style room which came with a massive private onsen and bathroom with amenities and included daily breakfast which was really substantial and thoughtfully plated. The room also had an open deck with a nice view. There is a lounge where you can have all day coffees and teas. The gentlemen who run the place don't speak much English but they have gotten the process down so all the important information is provided to you on a handout at check in and there is always Google translate handy for more questions. Another reviewer mentioned the positive energy from the staff, I completely agree. Everyone was really helpful and cheerful. We would definitely return again. Three tips: - bring enough cash to pay just in case your card doesn't work. Our credit card which worked all over Japan for some reason didn't work with their machine, but fortunately we had enough cash on hand. - if you are arriving late at night and you want a hot meal when you get there, be aware that there is no restaurant open nearby and the nearest is a 10 min drive in the dark. (As the roads are not well lit). I would strongly recommend booking dinner through the hotel if you want a meal -- a Japanese dinner is included which can be arranged if booked in advance and if you would like French or Italian you can top up a little extra. - download Google translate on your handphone. The conversation mode on Google translate really helped us with some lost in translation moments!

Reviewed By sbraun0101Well managed, beautiful views of the mountains, easy access to hiking. I have stayed in many ryokan and this place is just wonderful. The owners sense for interior decorations are very nice. Highly recommend. It is worth the effort after the bustle of the cities to get to Kuju National Park and enjoy the mountains, volcano, and forests.

Great value with beautiful rooms, meals
Reviewed By Yukari KWe stayed here for one night on our first trip back to Japan in three years. This inn is doing a great job, particularly considering the rate, which includes two meals. Each room has its own outdoor tub, which is pretty sizeable for an in-room tub. The meals reflected a lot of effort and creativity by the chef, who focuses on local ingredients including a tempura of local greens that he foraged himself. They were filling, but not too much. This inn continues to be particularly careful in covid times, so the service was simple (though sincere). Once they show you to your room, you are left to your own devices, and meals are taken in private rooms in the dining area. There is some rigidity. For example, they seat everyone for dinner at 6pm and breakfast at 8am. You are not given a choice. But overall, I think you get a lot of bang for your buck here in a beautiful part of the country. Highly recommended.

On the whole i have given it a very good but after being out and coming back at 3 the room had not been made up. We could not discuss this as we do not speak Japanese. However we got fresh towels etc. It does have an onsenThe bathroom shower is powerful. The evening meal was meant to be French, well it made a nice change. Do not know what you would call the breakfast not really Japanese but not European , except for rolls and coffee
