Stayed in for a winter hike
Reviewed By LanSTLSCame for a hike, it was last minute decision with which we were pleasantly surprised . Wonderful experience. Really nice house , the room has everything you need. The garden was super cute. Host was really helpful. I would gladly come back here again. Location price and cleaners were super.

It's small hotel but the rooms are beautiful and clean. The bed is comfortable. The toilet in the room is tiny but very clean. The hotel has a nice open space for a 'garden-dining feel'. The food is delicious and affordable! The staff members are super friendly and kind. The pictures of the hotel you see online are exactly the same as in reality. It's beautiful!

Reviewed By alice838Lovely garden with space to sit and relax. Very good location, close to town. Helpful host with good level of English. The room was clean and comfortable although as mentioned by a previous reviewer, the sheets were a little rough. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

Not good enough by a long way
Reviewed By ADM001We booked to stay 11 nights but had to cut it short and only stayed 3 as we both got significant stomach bugs somewhere locally. The hotel infrastructure bedrooms/restaurants/gardens are good for rural Bulgaria and probably deserve there three stars rating. However there were significant problems 1 There was no attempt to clean our room over the three nights we stayed despite there being evidence of the hotel staff visiting our room to add a mat to the bathroom while we were out. 2 The was a plague of blowflies in the area, and while that is no fault of the hotel in a rural area, there was evidence of significant failures in food hygiene. We witnessed our breakfast left out uncovered for some time while the staff intermittently swatted the flies of the food. 3 Even by Bulgarian standards the food was poor - stale bread, heavily processed fatty ham slices and fried supermarket processed breaded fish. Really not appetising. 4 The staff could learn to smile...it doesn't hurt!!!! Kalofer is supposed to be welcoming and friendly. The staff in this hotel were not. Again no fault of the hotel but it was empty while we were there so it was like living in a mausoleum. One evening however was entertaining when six lads aged 14-15 came to sit near us and decided to practice their English on us. They were good natured and charming. They had clubbed together and bought a packet of cigarettes between them and were puffing away like the Mallard train on a speed run. "Do you drink as well" my partner asked? "Only a little" one of the lads impishly replied holding his thumb and first finger about a 1/2 a centimetre apart indicating how little he drank, then burst into furious giggles as if to say "I am a beer king"

Great hosts, good rooms
Reviewed By Marina GThe great things about this place are: welcoming and nice hosts. They go above and beyond to help you and make you feel home. The location is great, too - in the center of the town with many dining places in walking distance. The only drawback is really small rooms. So tiny that you can't fit your luggage without piling it up. Rooms are very clean and linen is fresh, but it's very uncomfortable to jump over your luggage everytime you move around. No air conditioning in the rooms - it gets really hot in there. No refrigerator and hair dryer as well. The bathroom is tiny too. Can't imagine someone over 100 kg to get in there to use the shower or toilet. Would recommend to travellers during cool months because of the lack of A/C and to travellers with very little luggage.

È collocato in posizione panoramica sulla cittadina di Kalofer e sulle montagne che la sovrastano. Molto essenziale è molto economico (50 lv) per una tripla senza colazione. Pulita, spaziosa e dignitosa la camera da letto. Il bagno purtroppo come in molte sistemazioni economiche bulgare è realizzato senza finestra, ma con una aspiratore elettrico ed è bisognoso di manutenzione. Possibilità di lasciare l'auto nel recinto della casa. Wi-Fi gratuito, possibilità di colazione nel buon ristorante situato sopra le camere. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è favorevole.

Close to the town centre
Reviewed By dorvelbgThe guest house is nicely located just off the town centre, app. 5 minutes walk. The rooms are clean and the host is very friendly. There is even free coffee at the lobby area (self-serve). There is a cozy inner garden-like area. The only trouble was the noise coming from the nearby prom celebrations - the only downside of it being so close to the centre.
