Awful company, avoid booking

Booked this budget hotel for the Olymips in 2020, they charged me over £1500 for 9 nights stay. Due to covid, flight restrictions and the postponement of the Olympics i asked for a refund but the hotel have refused. Shameful that a company can treat it's customers like this in such desperate times. Avoid and look for somewhere else in Tokyo.

Surprisingly close to JR Asakusa-bashi station. On the contrary of what I just said about the location, if you're using a pass that doesn't include JR line, you will have to walk all the way to Metro Akihabara which is like 10-15 mins away. Staff was not very impressive. We arrived in the morning and have to wait in front of the front desk for quite sometimes until someone ask what we need (of course, we want to check-in and left the luggage so we could go and rest somewhere). She then asked for our passport, do something and gave us back the passport and that's it. Not telling us anything, where to put the luggage, or when we should come back for checking in. We manage to find space for luggage storing by ourselves and it was very small, messy and almost full already. They use automatic light system for the whole building which was pretty scary for me when I use the shower. The bathroom was separated into 2 parts; dry and wet. I was showering inside the wet area – suddenly the light went off, then it turned back on when I moved, and after few mins, off again, and I see all of that from a mirror. Only 2 bathroom per floor. One elevator for 10 floors. Charge for every single amenity. Common area suits only 4 people but you also have to share it with people who use the washing machine as well. No cutlery, chopsticks, cups or glasses in the kitchen. Ridiculously, this is the only place where you are allowed to eat your food since they use the 1st floor lounge as a cafe so they don't let you eat any outside food there. Room price doesn't include breakfast, you have to pay extra 700 for breakfast. I shared my dorm with 4 other guests who went to sleep at 10 and then woke up at 4 in the morning to have a party, cook their food with rice cooker (not allowed, of course, for all hostel) right next to my bed and keep the voice loud even after I ask them to lower their voice. I report this to front desk but they refuse to do anything.

They helped me out when the airline cancelled my connection flight home by calling different numbers and waiting on hold for 40 odd minutes in the end they managed to secure me a direct flight home absolute heroes! The Japanese are so kind and thoughtful this is my second trip to the country. my favourite place in the world and I will definitely be back!

All hype on the robot side of things

Reviewed By H3051EJmarcoa

We were very excited about the robot hotel but found it underwhelming. There are two robots at the check in and that is it. When you first get there you are like ‘woah check them out that’s freaky’ but you can’t actually interact with them until 3pm when check in is, you can’t get near them before that. The check in didn’t work.... we had to get checked in by a human lol. The room was tiny. Very good shower and decent products to use. The clothes refresher was a waste of valuable space.... not really sure what the point of it was. The internet in this hotel was good and quick. They give you a smart phone to use during your stay and use for WiFi. I didn’t take advantage of this unfortunately, but great idea...

Super nice!

Reviewed By LucAJ113

This hotel was such a highlight. It is a little far from typical tourist attractions, but it’s close to a train station, though it’s really nice to just walk around the area. Lost of shops around. Though my favorite part was definitely the on-site onsen! I really recommend giving that a try. The room was bigger compared to other hotels in Tokyo we tried, and the bed was spacious and quite nice! The staff was really sweet and had iced teas and coffee in the lobby.

The best hostel in Tokyo!

Reviewed By cocono6

I couldn’t rate this hostel highly enough! Firstly I need to mention the staff because after even a short stay I felt like I had gained a ‘Little Japan’ family. Always grinning away, always happy and helpful. Every day being greeted at the door with a smile and an “okaeri!”and bid a good day “iterashiai!” every morning when I left. Always interested in seeing what I had got up to in the day and even inviting me out to eat at all the best secret restaurants in Tokyo. Also they all seem to be amazing chefs. Not only cooking themselves but inviting their friends to come and cook. The food is so good that you often find a whole wave of Japanese locals coming in for lunch and dinner. This was great too as I made even more Japanese friends and got to practice speaking Japanese with them. On a more practical note (and a less emotional one lol) the rooms are clean, beds are great, sturdy with enough space to put your things and a lock box. I slept in the 10 bed mixed dorm and had no problems at all (minus the odd snorer but nothing some ear plugs didn’t fix). Bathrooms are clean and there are free to use hairdryers, straighteners and a hairdryer brush. There’s food served all day with soft drinks and a bar. Lots of great sake (nihonshuu as it’s known in japan) they can recommend flavours for you. Free umbrellas downstairs and lots of cool Japanese books to read in the common room. There’s the kitchen / dining seating area, a room next to it with comfy sofas and an area upstairs for relaxing too with a fridge, microwave and kitchen accessories so you can store and cook your ‘conbini’ food. (The conbini / convenience store is around the corner stocked with a wide range of cheap and yummy food options). There’s no washing machine in the hostel but there is ‘camp wash’ around the corner where you can washing anything you need, including a trainer/sneaker wash and dryer!! Lol. Internet never failed and was available throughout the hostel. I really love Asakusabashi as a location. The station is near and super easy to get to. The area is packed with every type of amazing restaurant you could want. One train stop away from Akihabara (gaming and maid café district), walking distance (15 mins) from Asakusa. Great transport links to everywhere in Tokyo. You really couldn’t ask for anything more... and all for around £14 a night! ????
