A cheap but satisfying stay

Reviewed By ewanpringle

Had a really nice time staying overnight, staff were very helpful with check-in and plenty of information about the city is available to tourists. Has all the necessary facilities though I didn’t use any bar the toilet which was clean! The only issue was that the pillows on the bed weren’t the comfiest so I’d advise asking for an extra pillow for better support. Otherwise, the price was incredibly reasonable for what was available.

Will Come Back in a Heartbeat!

I couldn't possibly pick what I liked most about my stay at the CoDE Hostel - the Court. The accommodations, the location, the price, the people, the staff, EVERYTHING! As a solo female traveller in my early 20s, I felt completely safe and felt I could go to the staff if I needed any help (or had any travels or concerns, which I didn't). The next time I return to Edinburgh (which you can bet I will be, in the not so distant future if I have my way), I won't even look for somewhere new to stay, this will be the place for me!

Fab location and a good, inexpensive stay in Edinburgh

Reviewed By tess1000

We stayed for one night, there were 6 of us (2 adults, 4 children) in a private dorm. It had two separate showers and two toilets. We paid £3 each for clean sheets which were given to us on arrival. We had towels already, otherwise you need to rent these too. The room had been cleaned and the toilets/showers seemed fairly new. There was some noise in the night as people came back late, so if you are light sleepers you may struggle but my children and husband slept through it!! The location is a short walk to the main sites and there is parking right nextdoor. Of course some areas were a little rough around the edges, but we had a very comfortable nights stay and would come again.

Nice place on West Highland Way

Reviewed By Tignorsgirl

Service here was fantastic! I stayed in the West Highland Lodge instead of the Hostel though, which was OK. Shower was hot/cold, hostel was a bit noisy, and kitchen was not clean. Too expensive ($90) for this. My view was amazing though and the lodge is conveniently located to downtown and the grocery store.

Just three good things about this place: a) fantastic location, b) the Spaniard girl at the desk really polite, and b) clean towels included in the private room. Other than that, geeeeez, lots of room for improvement such as the hostile brunnette male with glasses, everything reeks of piss, atrocious and tiny showers with hair, dirty showers and toilettes, dirty cups of coffee during the brekfast (do the dishes well, please!! That's disgusting) Besides, it's full of noisy drunk girls during the night. Avoid this hostel if you can.

Oban Youth Hostel

Oban Youth Hostel is a beautiful Victorian building. It is the only 5 Star SYHA youth hostel outside Edinburgh. The youth hostel sits on a sea front location with views over the Firth of Lorne and to the Inner Hebrides. Oban Youth Hostel offers a choice of two buildings, consisting of the original Victorian building and modern lodge to the rear, both offering excellent budget accommodation and both are available for RentaHostel. Oban Youth Hostel offers traditional multi-share accommodation and private rooms - all rooms both private and shared are en suite. As you would expect Oban Youth Hostel boasts 2 superb self-catering kitchens but meals are also available in the beautiful Raasay Dining Room. A secret gem at Oban Youth Hostel is the self-contained flat which sleeps up to 8 people and is ideal for families and small groups. Wi-Fi during your stay: We do our best to deliver a free Wi-Fi service but apologise that connectivity, particularly in our rural locations, can be intermittent due to the level of our current broadband provision along with high usage when the youth hostel is busy. Please be assured we are endeavouring to improve where we can. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
