You take about an hour or two boat ride upstream in the Suriname river. The boat ride is scenic and but can be very hot in the sun. Reaching the Resort you still have to bring your stuff uphill to the cabins. Once your settled it's an amazing adventure. Swimming in the water rapids, taking walks in the jungle, seeing all the many animals is a great experience. Do keep in mind that you are far from the city and the village only has electrical power during the night.

Our group of 60 persons were accommodated exceptionally at this camp. We were catered to by Donovan and his wife, who own the establishment. They displayed the true Suriname warmth to our group. He set up tents, hammocks and mosquito nets in advance of our arrival. Hot soup was also available to all our group, with twinkling lanterns lighting our way. The creek was well detailed, especially for our little ones. The toilets and baths were very eco-friendly, which represented the atmosphere of Camp Palulu. We will definitely return!

Very peaceful place to escape Paramaribo and enjoy the nature. Perfect place if you don't expect luxury and enjoy simplicity and nature. Donald and Ilan, who work here, are the most welcoming and warm people, it was very nice to meet you. We enjoyed sleeping next to the lake, we used the zipline, made a short hike and went canoeing. They really take care of the safety and the zipline is in very good condition. Thank you for the great time Donald and Ilan!
An economical nature resort located on an breezy island at the Brokopondo Reservoir (W. J. van Blommestein Stuwmeer), Suriname. Stay in primitive nature huts with modern private restrooms, well equipped kitchens, running water, electricity and mobile coverage.
