Disappointed!!!

Reviewed By Alison D

If you are looking for somewhere that is good at communicating this place is a no no! So we arrived late because our flight was delayed & the information given at the main reception was poor & non existent! We was told the restaurant was open but only the main menu was displayed which entailed ‘pigs trotters!’ So we had to walk to the shop 3 miles there & 3 miles back after 14 hour day of traveling!! The following day we popped into the restaurant to find another menu that sold burgers ect again no communication!! Note the supermarket on site is only open 8-1:30pm & 5pm - 7pm & not very good when late arrivals need to shop for food!! The bus was our savour of the holiday but again was not impressed to learn after paying £1.65 each trip on the bus that you could actually get a 10 trip ticket for €7.95 which was a right money saver unfortunately we did not find this out until the 3rd day! The eurocamp website does not state that all facilities are not free so the mini golf tennis ect you have to pay for & the biggest thing that disappointed us was that the outdoor pools did not open until 9th April we left 8th!! So could not even sit on a lounger when it was hot!! The accommodation was poor please see pics attached! No oven, no toaster or kettle! Our air con/heater had not remote control & to be honest it looked like it had not been cleaned we both wanted to check out & go home basically!! The bed was like a concrete slab aswell!! If you want a peaceful holiday do not go here as the caravans are so close together & baring in mind we was out of season we had a family behind us that was very noisy & drinking all day! The BBQ did not work either! The only things that made up for all of the above was that Barcelona city was amazing & the weather was too! It is €5.75 one way on the coach outside the camp site which is great value for money!! A recommendation for Barcelona that we loved was the magic fountain a must see & visit the views are spectacular!!!

Excellent site

The staff on this site are exceptional. The young lady cleaning the toilet/ shower block keeps it immaculate. She is always smiling and cheerful and seems ever present. Reception staff also helpful and friendly- in particular the gentleman on duty Sunday evening who “ went the extra mile” in helpfulness to retrieve my lost keys. In general, the site is very clean and well maintained- would definitely return. Thanks to all at Camping Medes.

Quite nice

Reviewed By Johnny H

Friendly place with a reasonable restaurant. I came on bicycle and was quite tired from a long day and the ascending that it actually takes to get to this place, but the restaurant on-site meant that I did not had the hassle with cooking myself, this evening it was a big “win”.

Views to die for

Reviewed By Russha

The view from the site over the bay took my breath away every morning, photos don’t do it justice. We were lucky to have a sea view. Pitches are quite packed in as other reviewers have said so we shared 3 between another couple we know who had a caravan. Very hilly round there and nothing really to walk to. Good location to explore Bilbao and San Sebastián although parking was challenging in both. Local town Zumaia was also great with the best supermarket (Eroski) and a Game of Thrones beach. Staff were lovely and so helpful. There was plenty of fresh bread and pastries in the shop every morning. We were located near the modern shower block which was fab. Our kids had a blast in the basketball area and cycling around the site on their bikes. Infinity pool was really nice but I would say it needed to be heated especially as weather is temperamental in that region. It also closed between 2-4pm each day which was a very annoying time, lunchtime would have been better. Overall though great stay.

Lovely location

Reviewed By EmmaG1959

Don’t be tempted to just use this lovely site as a stop-off. Tordesillas is a lovely town - a little run-down in places, but oozing history and the Convent was a worthwhile visit. It’s a short walk over the beautiful bridge. Don’t miss it. Oh yes, the campsite. Very pretty with lots of trees. Facilities fine. Lads in the restaurant rushed people a bit, but we ate in town so can’t comment on the food.
