Perfect for visiting the famous museum and garden across the road

Beautiful tradition ryokhan with steam bath and onsen outdoor in peaceful setting. Very luxurious feeling on arrival and you are given your Japanese kimono and outfit for taking dinner. We slept on mats in a large family room. It has a fridge and plenty of space. Food was typical Japanese set meals with fish steamed and pickled vegetables on a large tray.

Gourmet vegan meals in a fabulous Ryokan!

Kouyoukan is.a beautifully renovated and maintained guesthouse on the grounds of Kiyomizadera Temple, one of the 33 temples of the Chūgoku Pilgrimage. The family who operate this guesthouse have much to be proud of - the food served here is the equal of any vegan restaurant anywhere, in terms of taste, sophistication, and presentation. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the ofuro provides a great wash and soak, and the Internet works perfectly. Chikuyo

It's in Yasugi-shi, Shimane. It's a car to God of a matchmaking "Izumo-taisha", 50 minutes. It's a car to Hoki Fuji Daisen in the San-in region, 45 minutes. Japanese-style inn with a hot spring of Michelin three-star tourist spot "Adachi art museum" choice for 30 seconds on foot famous for Japanese garden No. 1. The macrobiotic food a hostess of a macrobiotic concierge makes is popular. Additionally it can be caught in a morning in the living good San-in region, and you can also enjoy the seafood which took much fish in, the local dish abundant in local color and medicinal food. A hot spring is a natural source run sink. It's said that it was used as palace hot water of the Age of Warring States general. The volume of hot water can use Toyotomi for a hot spring for 24 hours. That lunch and a dropping hot spring can be enjoyed by a set also juxtaposes an eating place, and it's also big charm that lunch and a dropping hot spring can be enjoyed by a set.

Cosy Japanese Ryokan steeped in history

Reviewed By Sally N

Japanese style ryokan in the Saginoyu Onsen area. It's just next to Adachi Museum of art. There is no bathroom in the room so you need to go to the communal toilet if you need to pee. You also need to go down to the hot spring for a bath though you can wash your face and brush your teeth using the basin in the balcony. You can also use the private bath for an hour if no one is using it at no extra cost. It's far from shops or restaurants so you either order dinner at the ryokan before you go there or drive around looking for food like me.

clean simple ryokan near the train station

Reviewed By saluamanono

recently spent a night at Asahikan. the room was a clean, very large typical room in a Japanese ryokan, tho this is more like a minshuku. Shared toilet and bath. Breakfast simple yet adequate. Reasonably priced. If you are used to this type of accommodation, its fine but if you are a westerner and unaccustomed to staying in someone's home, this is not for you. Friendly hosts.

Nice staff, poor facilities

Reviewed By Matanjapan

Staff is very nice, Onsen was one of the worst ones I saw in Japan. It looked old, not well maintained and a bit dirty - I felt for a minute I had jumped to Thailand or something, this is not to a Japanese standard. But the lady at the reception was extremely nice.

Reviewed By masahi
