Nice friendly apartments
Reviewed By EKATERINA AOur family trip was in March 2017. We stayed at Paradisia Holiday Inn for 9 nights after reading feedbacks about this place. Of course, all disadvantages are forgotten because of the wonderful friendly owners of these apartments. Thanks for Yash, his brother, his Mom and all his family for care and attention! We spent amazing vacation here. Yash helped to rent a good car with baby seat for us, arrived us in the airport, adviced good places, beaches, routes etc. We drove around the whole island. The supermarket downstairs has all necessary goods. The apartments are simple, the kitchen has all for cooking, wi-fi works good.We recommend this apartment for stay in the East of the island.

Exquisite BnB, centrally nestled in typical coastal village of Trou D'Eau Douce. SM Lodge is the perfect gateway to Iles aux Cerfs. It provides cheap and clean accommodation for the budget conscious traveller. It has 6 en-suite rooms and a penthouse on the top floor. There is a shared terrace which is also used for breakfast. The rooms can accommodate a couple and the penthouse a family of three to four. SM Lodge is conveniently situated and provides immediate access to ATM, Public transport and access to the sea within 5 minutes drive or 15-20 minutes walk. Families with kids should plan for 30 minutes walk. We are near nice and local eating places. Some names which are close to us are Restaurant Tino, Les Alizees. you can also enjoy fine dining ( Chinese and India) at Flacq- Hong Kong Palace and Kesar. The newly renovated place offers a clean and safe accommodation. We serve breakfast and we serve a continental breakfast, with local fruits ( seasonal), yoghurt, cereals, local bread or toast sometimes local savouries, tea or coffee and juice and omelettes.

Reviewed By jnny_bppAt our first week on Mauritius in November 2018 we spent some great holidays by Annalisa at La Maison Soleil. A lovely italian woman which is always endeavors to enable her guests a nice stay. She has four dogs which are all friendly and cute. The guesthouse and the rooms have a very lovely and comfortable facility. Nice garden and pool area, where you can have a delicious breakfast in the morning with fruits of Annalisas garden. We also rent some bikes by her and so it was no problem to reach all the beautiful beaches in this area (great one at Palmar or at Belle Mare). But you can also walk to the centre of Trou d'eau Douce where you can find some good restaurants/ ATM. The guesthouse is good located if you want to do some excursions. Annalisa can book them for you and also if you need a private driver. We did some nice trips with her friend Ajay. Insider tip: if you want to do a trip to Ile aux Cerf, you can easily buy your tickets at the parking area of the Shangri la le Touessrok hotel (450 MUR each person for boat transfer incl. a free cocktail on the island!). It is much cheaper than the "normal" excursion deals starting at 30€ or more. You only have to drive the long road to the Shangri La hotel and if you see the gate entrance of the hotel just turn right to the parking area. Tell the porters that you want to do a trip to Ile aux Cerf and you can buy the tickets there for the next day. The boats usually start at 9am. All in all we had a great time at Annalisa's guesthouse and can highly recommend it. Thank you for the great hospitality. Lovely greetings. Jennifer & Florian

Perfect getaway
Reviewed By 471zainWonderful villa with amazing sunrise view. The villa is spacious with all facilities available,the bakery is just few metres away. The small jetty is perfect for snorkeling and fishing. Had an incredible moment with the family, will surely come back again.

Favourite of Our Three Stays on Mauritius
Reviewed By BazLozWe stayed here in the Kiwi apartment (Watermelon is approximately the same size immediately above it) for three nights, bookended by three nights in two separate hotels elsewhere, and it was the best of the three places for us. Three nights is also perfect: arrival day to wander around the village; second day full day on Ile Aux Cerfs, and third day lounge around the apartment and do a beach walk. Nice as the hotels were, you can become detached from the real Mauritius, and we're more given to something like this, where the locals live, in this case a former fishing village, with the nearest restaurant a couple of hundred meters away (Green Island), and the other two we used (Chez Tino and Gilda Restaurant) not much further, and all good. The main industry now is transporting day-trippers to Ile Aux Cerfs, and yes, that activity is from a couple of points on the beach just to the right of the apartment, the nearest being a hundred meters or so away, but it's not a problem, and the only people that walk by the little stretch of beach immediately in front of the apartment seem to be people in similar apartments to the left, or the hotel around a couple of small headlands. As with all three areas of Mauritius that we were in, the beach is covered in trillions of small bits of broken coral rather than fine white sand, and is shallow for a little way out, but is perfectly OK for a dip. The private patio however is where you'll want to base yourself - parts of it catch the sun virtually all day, but there's ample shade from the full size awning, which also provides complete privacy from the apartment above. We were only a couple, so we had loads of room, but the kitchen / dining / lounge / terrace all flow in one big space, and would still be ample if all three bedrooms were occupied. We found it clean, the bedroom quiet and the bed comfy, and the shower we used worked fine. There is also a parasol you can borrow, which was a godsend for Ile Aux Cerfs. Taking into account food and drink, it also worked out a fair bit cheaper than the two hotels we stayed in, both 4 star, even taking into account all food and drink.
