The best available Bed and Breakfast Inns to stay near Himeji

May 9, 2023 Emerita Lamoureux

One of the best preserved and most architecturally demonstrative, Himeji's 400-year-old castle is so exquisite that it alone is worth a trip to the city. The castle is close to the train station, so it makes an ideal short stop on a day trip to several sights.

An Escape from everything. It's a bit difficult to get there if you don't have car, you need to take a cab from the station, but it worth it. The personal is so warm and they will help you with everything, just a few o them speaks in english. I loved the onsen and spa area, the room it was Japanese style, so clean and gorgeous. And the meals was also traditional. A great experience!

Nice hotel to stay

Reviewed By CLau888

There are quite a few onsen hotels in the area but I found Yumenoi a very nice hotel in the area. It is located up on the low hill over looking some beautiful farm lands. There are ample parking in front of the hotel. The lobby has a high ceiling, relatively big and nice lighting. Staff speak limited English, but are trying very hard to explain to you the detail, in Japanese. The hotel gave us JPY 500 each person to spend on the store. My room is a nice sized Japanese room overlooking the pool and restaurant. But the room has a trap that you may hit your head above the TV and telephone where it is tucked in. Our dinner is served in the restaurant. The dinner is a sumptuous meal with beef and lobster, and other dishes which is of very high quality. After the meal, we wandered around the lobby where there is popsicle available for free to guests. A nice sitting area next to the lobby and a Hi-Fi playing soft music, overlooking the garden. There are two bath areas. A main bath and a "starry bath" as it is called. The starry bath is actually lights on the bottom of the bath and is open air, so you can look to the star over your head and on the bottom, that is what I guess it means. Breakfast is also served in the restaurant, but closed rather early at 8:50am. There are quite many different local specialties, including eel rice, almond toast, and curry. The hotel room itself is a bit dated, but overall it is a good hotel to stay.

A slice of paradise

Amazing experience ! Situated in the tranquil hills outside Himeji centre. The dinner was delicious with several courses. Service absolutely excellent - pleasant staff always ready to help. The best part was the onsens - both indoor and outdoor; not busy. Perfect retreat for anyone looking to experience traditional Japan and the food was lovely! A great way to experience a traditional Japanese meal! I highly recommend even if it's a bit out of the city the 30 mins ride is worth the journey itself and you can even arrange a shuttle from the hotel to pick you up from Himeji station and take you back!

Yuyake Koyake

Sunset Shoyakeno Harimaheiya and countryside shining in the sunlight in front spread the scene of hometown by Yumesakigawa that praised the rich water, to the west you Nestled show a graceful appearance is Fuji Myojinsan Harima. It is, somewhere seen such a truly "Japan of the original landscape". Beautiful Japan that body and mind are healed, it can be found here. Our rooms are a total of 17 rooms. All are rooms with a bed room with open-air bath. We think in but leave, you can spend a relaxed time. Unlike the shape of the rooms of the structure and open-air bath, it will be four major types. You can choose your favorite type of rooms. My most fun dishes in Yuyakekoyake. As seasonal ingredients is pleased also to look creative cuisine, it has been transported dish. If you enjoy the delicious cuisine in the mood of the day the sake, shochu, wine to accompany, my smile will stay here.

Relaxing traditional experience

Reviewed By docious1

We stayed here for one night to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan. We had a private bath on our balcony that overlooked a pond and wooded area. It was very relaxing to open the sliding doors, sit in the bath or on the balcony and hear the birds. I recommend the rooms with private open air baths since the two public onsens were a distance from the ryokan rooms in the main hotel area. We opted for the traditional dinner which had about 10-12 courses and the service in the dining area was great. Since this was our first experience like this, the dining staff did a great job of letting us know what each course was and how we were supposed to eat each even though they didn't speak English and we didn't understand Japanese. The hotel is about a half hour from Himeji station and they have a shuttle bus to pick you up at the station (3:30 pm) and take you back in the morning. There isn't much around the immediate hotel area, so I'm not sure I would stay longer than a night.

Good value

Reviewed By RStuff

There is nothing special about this hotel so your perception will depend on how much you pay. We got a good price through one of the online brokers so score the hotel as better than average value. We had a twin room which was very roomy. A friend has one of the semi-double rooms which was really only suitable as a single. The staff were helpful. Location was good - closer to the station than the castle so not far to drag luggage. Nothing negative to report.
