I facilitate retreats and training for Army Recruiters in addition to other travels, and we were extremely well taken care of by the front desk, the group coordinator, and the hospitality team, especially Mr. Isaac Varon, and his team Harvey and Felix, as well as Jaders and Pedro poolside. Royal Sonesta has upgraded this hotel from good to great, and it is apparent that they are aiming at excellence in all they do. Each staff member we interacted with had a guest-focus and sincere empathy if anything needed to be resolved. Remarkable people in a great hotel in a lovely beachfront setting. I have every intention of returning with my family on a personal retreat someday soon.

Reviewed By sjhwendtThe hotel grounds were beautiful, pools, beach and golf course. The rooms are starting to be outdated. We had air-conditioning issues and ants. We even had to ask to switch rooms. The other catch they don’t let you know about is for each room you have, you have to pay $100 per night, per room for incidentals. Also, more money per room is on cleaning, Wi-Fi, pool services, etc. That ended up being over $500. So you have your room cost. You’re $500 plus $100 a night for room incidentals, and an extra 300 or more for extras. So this hotel is charging a lot and not letting us know until we got there. Your stuck and have to pay. Worth it? No.

When we arrived, it was disappointed because I didn’t received any help except for Luis bellman that came sprinting from the lobby to the taxi to help me. There where 2 other bellman stand watching without doing anything there names were Ian and Emanuel which they were struggling even to find me a taxi. At the start I didn’t want it any help because no one offered it, but Luis told me that I was on vacation and on his watch, I was going to enjoy Puerto Rico. He convinced me to accept his service and it was awesome!!! He sent me down to Fajardo and Cabo rojo and everything he did and told me it was above and beyond. I’m definitely coming back if he’s here. And the front desk team did a really good job and the choices team. But Luis THANK YOU!!! And I hope you accomplish everything in the music industry!!!

Great location and Seaweed-free beach
Reviewed By 677trungtWe were there during the 2nd week of May 2022. We rented 2 rooms for the week in the Ocean Tower (newest construction). 1. Beach water is a little rough but it was manageable for us because we did not go further than waist deep in the ocean. The best thing is the soft sand (no gravel) and absolutely no seaweed. I know a lot of Carribean islands are inundated with seaweed during early spring to late summer so this is a big plus. 2. Ocean Front Rooms: We stayed on the 8th floor of the New Tower and I recommend you requested for rooms 851, 852,853, 854, 855 and 856. Those are the ocean front room (with living room and kitchenette). On the other floors (Floor 2-10th) , any room ending with 51, 52,53,54, 55, and 56 would also be ocean fronts. 3. Lobby Vibe: This is a hotel with a lot of nightlife for young people so it may be too noisy for senior travelers. There is blaring music until midnight in the bar/lobby and there is an adjoining gambling casino. 4. Customer Service: A few reviewers complained about the service but we find that the service was always pleasant and everybody was smiling and helpful. Of course, it is a busy hotel so service may lag during rush hour time. 5. Internet was fairly fast and there is also a laundry room with 2 washers/2 driers. If you do your wash around 11pm, you should not have a problem finding an available machine. I think the hotel was build in the 70s so I expect some of the facilities to be old but overall stilll in very good shape Condado is a very safe area for travelers to walk at night. Uber is about 15 to go to Old San Juan and $15 to airport. Make sure you visit La Placita entertainment area (15 mn walk). Lots of bars and restaurants and that place is hopping at night.

Reviewed By X5901QFmariarWanted to go away for my birthday. Reserved 3 weeks in advance with oceanfront view but got room next to pool area, when I inquired I was told they were all taken. Room was clean and spacious, only complaint bed was hard, coffee maker but no coffee or tea, no Wi-Fi in room, only outside by the pool area, nice view of beach but couldn’t swim on the beach, had to drive 20 minutes to nearest beach, restaurant was nice but breakfast needs to improve, eggs were cold, staff was friendly
