A summer highlight is always a local greens salad simply tossed with good olive oil & vinegar. I really like the citrus (lemon, grapefruit) vinegar. And come Christmas time, the gift packs make wonderful stocking stuffers for the adults in your family (something they will actually love and use). Staff are very helpful & by sampling different combinations you will always be very happy with your purchases. They have great ideas for using the balsamics in cooking.

Persephone Brewing Company

Reviewed By Franklin N - Seattle, Washington, United States

We finally made our way to Persephone Brewing, one day after their recent fourth anniversary. Conveniently located on highway 101, near the Langdale ferry terminal Persephone is a favourite stop for cyclists, travelers and locals. Parking is available on the property, in several locations, so drive slowly and don't worry if it looks like the parking is full up front, there is more in the back. In addition to the brewery, Persephone is a real farm, producing Hops for the beer, and fresh vegetables.
Cozy Seating inside, and much more outside Seating. A wood fired pizza oven is outside, and the pizza is superb, goes well with the beer. The Persephone pale ale is my favourite, but all the selections are good.

Decided before we left home that after driving for hours and crossing from Horseshoe Bay that a hike would be the best thing to do. Headed to the visitor information centre and got great directions to the trailhead. Parking was easy but not plentiful. The trail was well marked and easy to follow. Took us 30 minutes to get to the second lookout and less time to get back. People of all ages on the trail but a certain level of fitness is helpful. Great views.

Gibsons Public Market lives in the heart of Gibsons Landing, on the banks of Gibsons Marina and glorious views across Howe Sound to the North Shore Mountains. The indoor market brims with local food vendors selling fresh meat, fish, cheeses, chocolates and flowers. It offers cooking classes on weekends, and the Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre delights local school children with abundant local marine life. Artisans set up their stalls at Christmastime creating a merry atmosphere with pretty wreaths, trees, decorations. The on-site Cafe offers delicious snacks and mulled wine at advent. A must see for visitors to the Sunshine Coast!

Wonderful little spot, bright taproom with tasty craft beer. I had a flight the Brown Ale being my favorite, unfortunately the IPA tap had just run out, but that gave me a reason to return later that day to try it and fill my growler. We were there on a non food truck day, a bite with flight would have made it a complete experience. If your visiting lower Gibsons I recommend a stop here.

Gibsons Visitor Centre

Located at the south end of the Sunshine Coast, the Gibsons Landing is a quaint seaside village perched on a hillside overlooking the harbour and faces nearby Islands in Howe Sound. As the crow flies, the "Gateway to the Sunshine Coast" is 16km/10mi from Vancouver. To get to Gibsons, it's a 40-minute ferry ride from West Vancouver, followed by a 5km/3mi drive from the Langdale ferry terminal. Gibsons has earned international recognition: it was recently named the "Most Liveable Community under 20,000" (2009) in a world-wide competition by the UN-backed International Awards for Liveable Communities. But, it's perhaps most famously known as the location, Molly's Reach for the longtime hit TV show The Beachcombers, which first aired in 1972 and ran until 1990.

I was only in Gibsons briefly between Horseshoe Bay and heading to Roberts Creek, but it is a very quaint area. Locals are very helpful, my bus driver was super friendly and informative. For myself, there wasn't much to do activity wise, but it's a nice place to look around and see the boats in the marina on a sunny day.

Been there many times; for Exhibitions, openings, and community meetings. Dedicated volunteers, a nice little gift shop, and an excellent asset for the town of Gibsons. Well worth taking in if you're in Lower Gibsons.
