The 8 best Pensions in Dresden, Germany

April 26, 2023 Trinity Boughner

On the banks of the lovely Elbe River, the German city of Dresden is lush and green, filled with forests and gardens and parks. The city is rich with cultural and artistic history; the great operatic composer Wilhelm Wagner debuted a number of works here in the 1800s and, today, an independent light opera company keeps the classical art form modern and fresh. Culture vultures will love the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister and Grünes Gewölbe museums, and architecture buffs will salivate over the mélange of styles reflected in the cityscape.

One of the best stays ever!

Reviewed By Jennifer A

I have traveled to many countries all around the world. I have stayed in cities large and small. Rarely does one encounter the level of service that we experienced at this aparthotel. We were a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 older children. This was one stop on a 2 week Europe vacation for us, and as far as accomodation goes by far the most enjoyable. The place was incredibly roomy, and spotlessly clean. The extra touches were what really set it apart though. I had emailed ahead a special request for a Christmas tree, decorated, as we were there Christmas Eve and Day, and they took care of this for me! The housekeeping staff dropped in on Christmas Eve to say "Merry Christmas" and presented us with a bottle of Gluhwein and 2 bags of cookies! There was tea and coffee, toiletries, just everything you needed. Reception (check in and out) was so friendly and efficient. Thank you SO much for a fabulous stay...we are already considering making this an annual family event! Cheers!

Wonderful and relaxed stay!

We stayed for a days while visiting family in the area. It was truly wonderful. The room was clean and well maintained. Fresh towels and small bathroom amenities on hand. Our room had a large balcony which invites you to enjoy the evening over a glass of wine (or beer?). The sunlight woke us up every morning in the most awesome way, once you open the blinds. Its ideally located next to the popular Elbradweg which is perfect for a run, bike ride or walk along the river. All in all a great location and very friendly hosts. We will be back!

Little cozy pension at the end of the city

Reviewed By atheist_tramp

Having to stay away 3 days for work, I started to search cheap pensions. Not very easy in Dresden. Anyway I could find an appeasing solution with the owner and booked 2 night only. The place look cared, and you see that get renovation not long ago. It is at the end of the city, in a very quiet zone and situated near the end station of one tram: it means very practical good connection if you don't arrive by car. Around anyway there are enough free parkings. Place is not so big, the owner is very likeable. Rooms are simple, clean, and with the minimum necessary. Mattress is good. Breakfast (by my price) wasn't included. What to say: arrived back always late night and used it only to have a bed. Probably can be used better if you are on holiday and want to enjoy the zone around and what it can offer.
