Architecturally designed to offer spectacular views of Castlereagh reservoir, Camellia Hills is a modern five-bedroom tea planter's bungalow that sits on a mountainside in Dickoya surrounded by emerald tea fields and rolling hills. The three Lakeview Bedrooms and two Camellia Bedrooms all offer panoramic views. There’s a cosy open plan lounge with fireplace, and guests can dine indoors or on an open-sided terrace to take advantage of the valley vistas. In the garden lies a 10-metre infinity swimming pool and a relaxation ambalama for absorbing the scene. The climate in the hills is warm during the day yet fresher and cooler at night, and ideal for long walks. Scenic hikes through tea bushes are a highlight of a stay.
My family and I enjoyed two nights at this beautiful bungalow situated on a mountain-top overlooking the Castlereigh Reservoir. The panoramic view of the mountains from the living area is one that is mesmerizing and truly makes one appreciate the beauty of the world we live in. You could spend hours seated on comfy chairs just taking in these breathtaking views and the fresh, crisp air that the countryside has to offer. The food served at the bungalow was as exquisite as the view. The chefs' preparation of each meal, including the evening tea, was scrumptious. From the Danish pastries and Croissants made by the Chefs themselves to the sorbets, and main meals, every meal was delicious. Each meal was accompanied by a starter of your choosing and a dessert. The food was served on time, at the time requested by each guest. Seated at a table, enjoying such fine preparations and a magnificent view was the highlight of this visit. A truly unmatched experience. The rooms, with attached toilets, are spacious and spotless. It was very clean. Cleaning services for the room were available every day. The staff, including the Manager Mr. Raj, go out of their way to make it feel like home. In fact, in his introduction, Mr. Raj made it a point to emphasize to all the guests to just feel at home. It was definitely a five-star experience, that I'd recommend to anyone visiting the hill country to at least spend a night or two at. It is indeed value for money! I wish nothing but the best and continued success to Camellia Hills!

It’s a family hotel which is situated on the way to Adam’s Peak. You’ll be able to have a better view from the hotel because it’s on top of mountain and surrounded by tea plantation. Enjoy Sri Lankan and Indian food in a freezing weather and at a calm place.
The owner are so kind and lovely! They helped us so much to organize our trip to Adams peak including many tips for example rafting, trip to waterfalls ect.. After Adams Peak we could enjoy a delicious homemade srilanka breakfast with the most spectacular view!!! I can fully recommend it with all my heart ♥️

Très beau cottage anglais au milieu d’une belle plantation de thé. Randonnée possible. Le service et nourriture sont excellents. Calme absolu. Loin du centre ville. Le wifi est disponible dans le salon mais pas toujours dans les chambres.

This is my 2nd visit within 5yrs. We stayed here for one night, as part of a 3 night road trip. Mr. Kannan runs a clean and well appointed guest house, and the food was EXCELLENT!!! Its worth it to just visit merely for the delicious meals! We hired a tuk tuk from the village and went around to Maussakale to view Mohini Falls, Gartmore Falls and visit The Fishing Hut (on Moray Estate). The road to Gartmore Falls and Fishing Hut is pretty bad, but well worth it. Always a pleasure to return!

Where to begin about how awesome this bungalow was? I will start with the staff, who are so kind and considerate and will go to any lengths to ensure you are cared for and pampered. Janaka stood out as he was always there, making sure our food and our room was just so. What an amazing man, he is such an asset to Castlereigh! Next, wow what a place! The building is beautiful and the antiques appointing the main house as well as the guest rooms were picked to perfection. From the antique RCA Victor gramophone to the antique camera to the horse racing photos from a bygone era, I was just blown away by all the remarkable pieces there. There were even antique maps of Sri Lanka that were so well preserved. A visual feast everywhere. Next, the feasting! I am vegetarian, and Janaka made sure the cook prepared special dishes for me. Everything was mouth watering and so scruptuous! We had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even tea. Every meal was as if it were a special holiday. I felt like I was royalty. Everything was remarkable and perfectly prepared. The staff is working hard to provide the most excellent food experience possible. There are things to do there - we took a nature hike with a great naturalist and saw many local birds, most we could not have picked out without help from the guide. The sea of great tea is so impossibly cool, you really will want to go see the tea factory, don't miss out on that. This is a place you could easily enjoy for more time than we were there (2 nights, not nearly enough).
