Reviewed By PlacesCasesSee .... .... A little neat hotel for max. 38 people, with large outdoor area of the tavern and a swimming pool; .... Our apartment was for 4 people, cozy but quite undersized- the kids bed was too tight for 2 persons. I advise you, if you have big children and you do not have a problem with the price, but you want two bathrooms and space, get two double rooms, a double room costs EUR 60 per night; .... Nice view of the sunset over the Rhodope Mountains from the small terrace of our apartment; .... There are no hotel slippers, you should bring yours, because in the bathroom there are reusable flip flops, which I am sure that for purely hygienic reasons you wouldn’t dare to put on; .... Numerous household decorations, wooden tables and benches in the tavern. Feel .... .... The feeling of cramped space in the apartment – the wardrobe was small and there was almost no place for clothes. For this reason, I recommend not to bring a lot of clothes there, it makes no sense. Get sportswear, outerwear and long trousers; .... Both bedrooms were with only one duvet, shared for 2 persons. I asked for extra, but they gave me bed covers, not something with a sheet; .... For the two nights we spent in Rodopski rai the room wasn’t cleaned up. I went on my own to ask for finished consumables. Listen.... .... Absolutely Disappointing - Bad Attitude to the Guests
Reviewed By Relentless SMy family and I visited Eco Complex Smilyan in August 2020. It's a family hotel, and according to most of the (high score) reviews hostess is nice, helpful, friendly and caring - the world famous Rhodopean hospitality. And in the beginning it looked like that. We got into our room and went to the restaurant. The tables outside were occupied so we had to sit inside. The hostess opened some windows upon our request. So far so good. The kind lady gave us the menu and leaned on the table, on her elbows getting her face very close to our faces. Of course she was NOT wearing a mask, as it should be according to the rules. My wife asked her NOT to get so close and why wasn't she wearing a mask. And then it happened - a drastic metamorphosis and the famous Rhodopean hospitality disappeared in a second. The kind lady immediately transformed, getting very rude. Actually, from that moment this evolved into a story about unacceptably rude behavior - something I have never before been subjected to. - She emphasized she would put a mask especially for us and would bring it from her car. - We were reminded it was not obligatory to stay in the hotel in case we didn't like it. - With the mask on, the hostess went to the kitchen where she started to comment in a scandalized loud voice our remark. - While passing near our table she asked a man: "Do you like me with this mask on?" "No, of course not!" "But those people over there want me to be with a mask!" - Not only we weren't right according to her, but she pointed us to other people as some freaks, who required mask wearing and distancing. - When I requested the bill for the dinner, I received two receipts - one for the food and one for one-night accommodation. That was her "polite" way of telling us to leave her hotel. - In the morning, while bringing us the breakfast she asked with a scornful voice "I guess you know the room should be free by 12:00?" Yes, we left this nest of hostility after the breakfast. This is my experience with Eco Complex Smilyan. I can understand some people do not care about COVID-19 but why shouldn't they respect the others? The preventive measures at public locations proved to be the best weapon against the virus. Of course this pandemic shouldn't stop the Earth from turning, the economic system must continue to function, but taking some elementary measures wouldn't harm anybody. And this happened in those troubled times, when in Bulgaria the number of infected, ill and hospitalized is growing bigger and bigger. The number of deaths also keeps a stable increasing trend. The behavior of the hostess was totally unacceptable, a pure symbol of disrespect to the guests and their health. In my experience I have never witnessed such attitude! I would never visit this hotel again!
