Lovely short visit to Diamond Hotel
Reviewed By Z998DLdianasWe had 4 nights at this lovely hotel. We stayed in a beach front bungalow. There was a problem with our booking when we arrived but the young and very professional hotel manager sorted it out straight away and for a reasonable upgrade we were given a beautiful beach front bungalow. The staff are all really friendly and helpful from the beautiful ladies who sweep the leaves to the elegant reception staff. Excellant buffet breakfast included in the price, something to suit everyone. We won't hesitate to book again next year.

Reviewed By 332olimpiacWe went there for three nights (77$ for a triple room). As international tourists, we really had a hard time here. The price doesn’t correspond in any way to the quality of the service we received. The restaurant is truly disgusting: the first day we ate a fried rice with shrimps and one of us felt sick. The breakfast has no “international” option, even though we have to say that they tried their best at breakfast with some toast and jam/ butter. The employees, even though really kind and nice, do not speak any English, which made our communication difficult. The room was basic and the bathroom was not functioning: no hot water and the toilet didn’t flush appropriately. No room cleaning was provided except for the last day. This is very unfortunate considering the amazing location in which the hotel lies. We understand that the guests are mainly locals, but we believe that the hotel shouldn’t be advertised as “international” neither should the prices be this high. We really hope that some change will be accomplished, in order to make the hotel an amazing place to spend the holiday, giving the potential of the location.

We have total 11 Rooms - 5 Asian Type Rooms and 6 European Type Rooms with attached bathrooms. We serve our guests both continental and traditional breakfasts. Guests can gaze forest views and river views out of their windows. Guests can also relax and look over the endless paddy fields on the rooftop. We also provide a free canoe so that our guests can row it through the water channels in the neighborhood. Guests can wander around the village and observe local ways of life. We also provide free bicyles for our in-house guests' convenience. In the neighborhood are Orchid farm, fishermen's workplace, domestic industries of rice crackers, tofu, rice mill, Buddhist Monasteries and Kyauk-phyu-gyi Pagoda and a primary school. The natural hot spring over the western bank of the lake can be reached by bicycle or by canoe (about 20 minutes away) from our place. Town Centre of Nyaung Shwe is in walking distance , only 10 minutes away. Traditional dinner can be ordered ahead ot time.

Kalaw Mountain Resort 10 Degrees Celcius !
Reviewed By Indochinatraders2014Very beautiful lodge located in the Kalaw a mountainous town near Shan State Nice abode, stayed over 1 night and the next morning temperature was 10 Degrees Celcius. The place I stayed was called Honeymoon Villa very nice but take note water heater takes a long time to warm up so make sure you ask the receptionist to do so. Really admired a caucasian lady who stayed next to our room, she was in YOGA outfit doing YOGA early in the morning 6am when it was freezing had 3 outfits on inner wear long sleeve tshirt and and a outer jacket..Do visit the market to have your breakfast and do some shopping !

Lovely family run guesthouse with friendly English speaking staff. Only 2 minutes walking distance from the beach, 5 from the market and 8 from the boat rental service. Free mosquito coil every evening.

Location is good though
Reviewed By AungMyo SAs mentioned in above, location is good but must improve services as priority. Staffs are helpful but it has very few staffs for the guests especially in dining room. Dining room also too small for the hotel. Management must know how to serve the house guest no matter local or foreigner without any discriminate. Price are reasonable in terms of room size if you're tolerate the not good water pressure and noise from exhaust fan. Ceramic tiles floors is not suitable for air conditioned room and lights from corridor is annoying for the night. Metallic voice from walkie talkie using by security in the early morning also disturbance for sleeping. Please be mind that break fast is fair, not strong enough wifi, lack of service etc..

Reviewed By Frankie CThe place is nice and the rooms are good. Just need the better curtains. No TV in the room perhaps they might have it in the bungalows. There is swimming pool and what a shame that i couldn't have a chance to sink in. The breakfast is very good. They even give you soup such as potato, tomato soups. Pancake, eggs and some special of the day. The service is very good. Lain Maw Tee ( Orange) is the person you have to be in touch with cos he'll give you all the tips what to do and he's all day round to serve you. He's the best and the rest of the family members are also friendly and welcoming. It's a bit out of Nyaungshwe but you'll feel like u r in the resort. By bike u can reach to downtown within 5 mins. I recommend this place if you want to feel the serenity and calm get away from the bustling city life.

Good for staycation
Reviewed By Arthur0oMost of the rooms are old and the woods in balcony are decayed. There are only 2 rooms renovated (325/326). We asked for these renovated rooms but got one. Unfortunately when we arrived, both renovated rooms are occupied. The staffs explained that there were errors in booking. Finally they managed the customer to move to another room and we got one room. We arrived at noon and told the staffs we will be having lunch but at 2 pm the rooms are not ready yet. The staffs hospitality is great. Breakfast is below per. The only attraction there is the incredible scene and cool weather. Good for staycation.

Amazing Yangon’s getaway
Reviewed By olaonthegoWe have spent a gorgeous weekend in Bulaeinn Villa. The place is very well maintained, staff is at most kind and amenities, especially the pool are outstanding. Food was very good too, a decent selection of both Asian and European dishes with a very attentive chef (I’m vegan and he made sure my orders were right). Highly recommended! Also, we just took a cab from the Center of Yangon for 17000mmk one way.

Very friendly staff and great environment
Reviewed By Rémi PThe hotel is not at the center of Nyaung Shwe even though you only need to walk 10min to get to the canal or to the bus statiob, so it is very quiet. Rooms are clean, with AC included and working well. Breakfast is really good and with large quantities. I highly recommend Thiri Nanda for their friendly staff, guys here are always available, understanding and smiling. Go there for a wonderful trip to Inle Lake.
