Taking the cruise lake ship right in front of the train station of Lucerne the Golden Round Trip starts. After a 1 hour boat trip on Lake Lucerne, a spectacular ride on world’s steepest cogwheel railway brings you to Mount Pilatus. Bathed in a grandiose panorama at the foot of the Alps, the medieval fortress was successively occupied by the counts who erected it, by the bailiffs of Friborg, then by the Geneva families Bovy and Balland before opening its doors to the public in 1938 .
