The new seat of the Szczecin Philharmonic was erected at the junction of two streets, Małopolska and Matejki, at the plot where 130 years ago the Concert House (Konzerthaus) commenced its activity. Since 1884 it served as city’s musical center. The building was severely damaged during warfare, and in 1962 it was finally pulled down. The new facility, in line with the intention of its authors, is based on respecting the surroundings and history of the location, co-creating a friendly urban space and at the same time intriguing everyone with bold solutions and original shape of building’s body. According to the intention of the designers, the building reflects the musical order and construction of the instrument whose physical structure becomes filled with life and sounds. For the first time the building of the Philharmonic in Szczecin filled with music in September 2014. This is the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Szczecin’s music experience.

I experienced a concert of a youth orcherstra playing composers of scandinvia - well it was just exciting to see young musicians contributing wiht passion the performance - really super - also the building of the philarmonia is an outstnading experience you should not miss

Waly Chrobrego (German name: Hakenterrasse) - Promenade with great views on Oder river and port, a favourite among the locals and tourists. Many cafes are situated here. See the Maritime museum (Muzeum Morskie), situated just in the center of Waly which houses some artifacts from history of the city and also has big collections of African and maritime artifacts.

On the banks of the river, this Promenade makes for a nice walk by several historic buildings. One can then walk by the river itself, choose from a few restaurants for food or drink. Walking distance to some nice park settings as well. A nice few hours for an afternoon visit to Szczecin.

I've now been here twice. The grounds are absolutely immense. The care, respect and decor is beyond any cemetery I have visited in the States, so something to see for cultural comparison. Several monuments and special memorials are located within the cemetery. On this visit, also visited the graves of 5 family members.

Very well kept and packed transport museum that was well worth a visit if you are interested in any forms of road or tram transport including motorbikes and bicycles.
We took a tram out of the centre on the Blue Line. From the centre you need to buy a 30 minute tram ticket costing very little. The journey is actually only around 20 minutes and you can pay by credit card on board the tram of by cash at the tram stop machine.
The museum had lots of exhibits from the old Eastern Europe including a great display of pedal cycles too.
There was also a café upstairs that sold home made cake and very reasonably priced.
The entry was only a few pounds and we would definitely recommend a visit.

The tower gives you a gret view of the city. If you want pictures of the castle and the old town the afternoon is better (for the light). There are lifts to the viewing platform and it is behind glass. The church is also interesting - it was rebuilt after WWII but the stained glass is lovely and the whole is very light and lofty. There is a charge for the tower and also for the church.

The nice thing about these Castles is that they have become accessible for uses like the arts and general tourist visits. This particular castle is nicely maintained and includes shops, a museum and a restaurant that makes a visit easy to take. The structure itself is very interesting, especially the clock that is on the front of the central tower. Nice walk inside but take the time to go out the back and look at the entrances from that side. It's an easy walk from here to many restaurants and the Basilica.

We were attending a jazz concert in this wonderful place and right after it, took a few minutes to check all the beautiful roses. I really felt like Alice in wonderland between the flowers. The smell the splendor of colors and the setting down sun made my day.

Kinda a misnomer in my opinion... the our town consists of a small square worth maybe 6 buildings all of which are restaurants...oh and a barber shop... not ugly in any way butnothing special
