The 10 Best Things to do in Signagi, Kakheti Region

September 6, 2021 Moriah Teneyck

Signagi or Sighnaghi (Georgian: სიღნაღი) is a town in Georgia's easternmost region of Kakheti and the administrative center of the Signagi Municipality. Although it is one of Georgia's smallest towns, Signagi serves as a popular tourist destination due to its location at the heart of Georgia's wine-growing regions, as well as its picturesque landscapes, pastel houses and narrow, cobblestone streets. Located on a steep hill, Signagi overlooks the vast Alazani Valley, with the Caucasus Mountains visible at a distance.

Signagi City Walls

Reviewed By KobaTomadze - Georgia, null

It is a little city in the east side of Georgja, one of the center of Kakheti region (land of wine) Red clay roof and wooden balcony houses - typical of Georgian architecture makes you feel special and you can guess why is it called city of love. You can find a wedding house there which functions 24/7. You can find wine, love and beauty in every corner of the city. And to say a word about the wall which is all around the city - it is one of the longest in the world, even as it is known the only longer wall than this is wall of China. So, it is one of the best places to visit with your lover one or with your family and friends. Only 2 hours drive from Tbilisi - capital city of Georgia. This location is popular in the summer, but I always prefer to visit during wintertime. It is very peacful there with less people and you can enjoy snow as well.

Living Roots Horse Ranch (Lost Ridge Ranch)

Our horse ranch is located in the quiet and scenic village Qedeli, a few minutes drive from Sighnaghi city center. In September 2019, after renovating the ruins of a 100 year-old house, we opened a cozy B&B suitable for 2 or 3 people and a small cafe with a terrace. We accept both individual and group bookings for riding tours, lunches and dinners, cooking classes and tastings as well as special events like birthdays, team buildings and weddings! We hope to see you at our ranch.

If you like "primitivist paintings" you must see that museum because Pirosmani's works are there. If you do not like "primitivist painters" you will not like it as it shows mostly Pirosmani's.

We had the pleasure of tasting beautiful wines and cha cha at this awesome venue. We love wines, coming from a wine region in South Africa, and really enjoyed our tasting with Nathan taking great care of us. A must when visiting Sighnagi.
