The touristic attraction of this river is mainly the possibility to do Water Sports like jet skype, canoeing, etc... but you can also do some cruzes on the river, and even go up to the lake. For the ones who want it more relaxed there are a lot of good places to eat along the riverside.

Take your swim suit and enjoy bathing at the crystal river water. The sun is warm and the food served in several restaurants are really nice. Take the day to enjoy the view. You need to hire a cab to go to one of the spots where you cross the river by boat. Cab ride goes around $35 reais.

I found the bathroom Restaurant Angelo - Baked Goat small. The toilet door opens in front of the sink. Be careful.
Reference this restaurant has three small statues of a family of Goats in front.

Although this is a beautiful part of the city, there is something missing on the "orla". It is not as charming as it could be. There isn't a single ice cream parlor, for instance and locals park their cars, open the trunks and play horrible loud music as they wish - so if you want to have a peaceful late afternoon walk, you might not get it. Anyway, not everything is bad and you should walk along the coast and drink or eat something at the local restaurants.

Essa foi a primeira igreja de Petrolina, sua construção teve início em 1858, sendo concluída em 1906 em estilo neocolonial, tem como padroeira Nossa Senhora Rainha dos Anjos, padroeira da cidade, tendo sua imagem vindo da Ilha da Madeira (Portugal) há mais de 200 anos, a igreja é bem simples, porém aconchegante, vale a pena a visita.

Beautiful pieces and good price. The place should be remodeled, though. They could reorganize it - mainly the handcraft large room - and could invest on a café with typical cakes and finger food. Also, the artists could have been more friendly with us. They didn't talk or show us their work. It was a pity!

Estivemos procurando os pontos turísticos de Petrolina e resolvemos ir visitar esse balneário,chegando lá vários garçons atenciosos vem nos recepcionar e isso eu achei um ponto bom,escolhemos ficar na Barraca da Socorro e o engraçado é que os bares dependem do tempo que o visitante passe por lá,pois quanto mais tempo ,maior o consumo e o local do banho cheio de lixo e mato,pedimos um peixe com muita espinha,um gosto horrível e pasmem cobraram R$ 120,00 nele,arrependimento total e saudade do restaurante do bode do Angelo.Fomos em 07 pessoas e o que nos cobraram foi um absurdo,volto a Petrolina um dia,mais nesse balneário nunca mais.

A cidade toda está com placas de indicação de atração turística (placas marrons) deste local e você acaba se interessando em conhecer, pois Petrolina fica a desejar de atrações deste tipo, é muito longe do centro e difícil de transporte público, fica as margens da BR, acho que deveria ser revisto se realmente se enquadra em uma atração turística, ou que pelo menos coloque o horário de atendimento e os dias de atendimento e que tem que implorar tocando a campainha para ser atendido, na verdade pareceu que não se importam muito com isso e a impressão que se deu é de improviso com as coisas. Quanto ao local assim como relatado por outros viajantes está bem largado e sujo, se tiver paciência e sorte poderá ser atendido, não vale a pena a visita.

Aprazível, bucólico e pitoresco local no Sítio Canto da Serra donde se avista um descortinador espelho d´agua que em muito encanta as noites de lua.
