If you like Freshwater bathing then this would make the perfect inland resort. Its several hundred yards wide and a mile or so long. There's an old steamer going up and down too. Plenty of grass areas to set up picnic stuff. Gets busy in high Summer but big enough not to get overcrowded.

I've seen several coal mines before, but no ore mines. The mine itself is nice, with a noisy train ride in conditions the mineworkers would have experienced, and some large drilling machines. A small museum shows some minerals and fossils, and more machines, and a nice movie about the history of mining in the region.

Very informative, excellent 360 degree show, nice drinks afterwards = worth every cent you pay for it (9€).
Be sure that your visit is before 12am on a Friday and not over the weekend ... if you want to watch the production life!

The "meschedes staircase to heaven" connects the city and the henne-lake. It is 50 meters high and you have to climb 328 steps to reach the dam. In the evening it is beautifully illuminated. On top of the stairs there is a nice viewpoint and a nice walk to the ship.

It's a really nice walk from the City to the lake. You can take the stairs or the path so it is even possible for disabled persons to reach the dam.

Lovely walking area, for a nice hike, while feeding the deer, wild boars and sneaking a peek at the lynx, nice atmosphere. When you get tired you can have a drink at the restaurant at the entrance. If you are looking for a relaxing trip in the area of Warstein: this is it!
Don't forget to visit the cave in the park (entrance fee there)

Multi Generational day out and we all loved it. Something for everyone, regardless of age and ability. The staff was brilliant and compared to the UK prices very competitive. As it was not peak season there were no wueues. Some steep walks so if you have mobility issues definitely take a chair ir scooter. Really great fun - cant wait to visit again.

This is a "Must" when you're in Meschede. The boat bring you to another part accross the lake. You can get off there and take a walk, then later you can take the boat back to the place you get on the boat. It's a beautiful lake. The location of the boat is behind the "Welcome Hotel"

Nice and cool activity in summertime, situated in the wildpark of Warstein. You get to see several examples of how caves are formed, several types of stalagmites and stalactites, very pitoresque. There are a lot of caves in this area, but not nearly all visitable, but this one is, so you also get to learn about neighbouring caves. The original entrance can't be reached by the public, so the entrance nowadays is manmade. When digging out this entrance lots of archaeological discoveries were done, men lived here in prehistoric times and left their garbage, which is very interesting for men today!
A new cave is formed underneath your feet since there still is a river running underneath this cave.

Der Aufenthalt im Only Women and Mens ist immer perfekt gestaltet. Es herrscht eine super tolle und ruhige Atmosphäre bei der man super entspannen kann. Das Team ist sehr freundlich und vor allem bemüht die Wünsche der Kunden perfekt umzusetzen. Egal ob Pediküre, Ernährungsberatung oder Gesichtsbehandlung, nach jedem Besuch ist man wunschlos glücklich.
