Welcome to Fossils Galore, Fossils Galore is a non-profit education centre that started in 2002 as a website for round the world fossil and crystal enthusiasts, this then grew and became the centre it is today. The aim of the centre is to educate the young and old about life in the past, right back to the beginning of life.One of the first things you see as you walk into the centre is our museum where we put on themed displays of fossils and crystals from around the world, with all the information about the display around it so the public can learn about these displays in there own time and if they have any questions we always have a member of the team on hand to help answer these questions. On the second floor of the centre we have the pride of the team, our preparation laboratory where the public can see our team working on a range of bones from the Jurassic deep sea’s to Ice Age animals.

Find me a sub ten pound activity that is better? My son was smashing geodes, digging for old buttons, fossils and panning for gems and shark teeth. The museum is solid too but don't think any young kids will be interested with everything else going on. They also have one of the best gift shops I have ever seen. Definitely worth the trip.
One small point is that they use volunteers and young children to help and is a mixed bag. First time I had a young lad helping us to identify things when my son was more interested in digging up anything and didn't care what it was. This time we had an older lad who seemed to be a bit frustrated about my now inquisitive son taking ages on each activity and asking loads of questions now he's a year older. It takes ages to build that rapport for all ages of primary school so I won't hold it too much against them.
Best tenner ever spent and they let you keep some of the items you find in specimen bags.

Prepare yourselves for 50 feet of zip-zooming fun,climb aboard the seat, jump off the platform and off you go on the Zooming Zip Wire! Did you know pigs like to race? Step up to the rails choose your favourite pig, place your bets and watch the piggies sprint round the course - lets see if you are a weaner. We look forward to welcoming you soon! There is a delightful cafe which has been recognised by the Guild of Food Writers as a "special place to stop for a super snack." Skylark also offers retail therapy on site with its large Garden Centre. Skylark Maize Maze and Funyard is open daily from Sat 18 July to 2nd September then weekends only until the end of September.

We had a fun day at Skylark and found the following positives. We had great fun feeding the pigs when we found some windfall apples in the haunted wood and seeing their excitement, I guess they enjoyed them We all enjoyed Jonny Jaffacakes entertainment for the children. The halloween theme that ran through the attraction was great. The pigs race was a great idea, we had much fun watching this. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food wasn't fine dining, but adequate for a light lunch.
The negatives were, the park closing at 4, we felt on a school half term they could have stayed open 'till 5. The cafe didn't cater for children wanting to eat from the normal menu. The children's box was hardly healthy eating, with cheese biscuits, chocolate bar and a fruit shoot. When asking for a child's soft ice, they said we don't do children sized ice creams. The bouncy castle was unattended with children over 8 years old and no parents to supervise either. For this reason we felt there was a lack of play things for the younger children. We would have liked to see a few more animals, perhaps some that the children could pet. We would like to think these issues could be solved and we would be happy to return.
We did find a few nice things in the garden centre though.

This volunteer run museum is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Visited last Wednesday and was shown around by the friendly helpful staff.
Excellent displays of March historical items. Military and Railways particularly around areas but also trades and businesses.
Even re-erected forge to the rest of the main building.
Will be back to have more in depth look.
Free entry and free parking nearby and not far from another attraction ‘Fossils Galore’.

I called especially to see this church, not knowing about the church roof, but because my great grandfather was baptised here. So the roof was a special bonus. But the church itself is beautiful, well kept grounds, and to see the actual font he was baptised in - priceless.
Amazing also was that is was just open for anyone to go in.
Thank you for a special moment.

We are sure that this will be useful to future travellers. We agree that Ely Cathedral is worth a visit and also enjoy mooring outside pubs and restaurants for the evenings.

This is an out of the way church that is worth a visit if you are in the area. It is normally kept locked but one can get the key from a nearby (100 yards away on the main road) convenience store/garage. The store is open daily from 9 a.m. to dusk. The church is also known as The Church of 120 Angels. We certainly didn't count them so don't know if that is true, but it is a roof (ceiling) with more angels than we have ever seen. The church itself is interesting as well as the key to open the door (it is quite large)!

The memorial is located in Broad St.,in the centre of March. It has a square base and an obelisk. There is a figure of a helmeted soldier which has a list of names below. This is well worth a visit if you are in March.

Visited the site a few times now and I'd agree with Fenlandier, it's a very interesting site and provides the ground work of a substantial camp which spanned many era's - also it's free. New sign's have this down as a Roman Camp, don't go expecting some grand / reconstructed fort. It's just ground work's here. So all the various earth banks and trench's are there, with water ways coming into the camp, the site was in use over many eras's including Roman and Anglo Saxon time. You can quiet easily picture where the wall defences would be place, main gates, water into the site etc. Number of boards onsite providing background information. I do wish more detail was available onsite but I do hold an interest in Roman/Anglo Saxon time. I think the last major excavation was undertaken 1980's and findings are down at the March museum.
Access wise just take your time down the farm track and let the chickens cross the road at the Farm yard. Welly boots are a good idea if your travelling down in winter and given it's been raining for the last 6 months until weekend just past. I find it a pleasant walk round and when inspecting those mole hills, I may just find a 2,000 year old spear tip.

We were a group of 10 on this "all-day" cruise along this scenic canal. The pace was slow, relaxing and most enjoyable. Sheena and Mike were perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them. Everything was timed to perfection and the food was delicious. Safety was a priority and the briefing was comprehensive and informative. A very pleasant day out!

I started to learn to fly here in 2015 after a trial flight, loved every minute, great value for money, and excellent area to fly for views and weather. Good Instructors to make you feel welcome, friendly atmosphere and reliable aircraft. Well worth a visit.
