Citrus was founded in 2008 as a multifaceted business venture whose main area of activity is the production of foods based on the renowned citrus fruits of Chios, an island in the eastern Aegean. Inspired by a history of systematic cultivation and commerce that dates back to the 14th century, Citrus aims at dynamically linking the past, present and future of citrus production in the area of Kambos with a model cottage industry. The fruit is used in high-quality products with significant nutritional properties, aimed at Greek and international markets. The Citrus estate, a stunning expanse that dates from 1742, is also home to a museum dedicated to the area’s history and the prosperity it experienced thanks to its citrus farms, while tours are also organised so that visitors can learn about the fascinating past and exciting future of Kambos’s citrus tradition.
A small, human-scale experience - occasionally eccentric - but rewarding for those who make the effort to find it. This is a working citrus fruit small-holding, with the original historical buildings housing a small museum about the citrus fruit industry on the island. It tells the story of how a small island developed a global outreach based on products brought by invaders.
It is family friendly, with a cafe and a shady Terrace where you can just sit and watch the cats, if you like. If you didn't think museums could be relaxing, then visit this one.

The castle of Chios is beatifull. It is worthy to visit it. It was fantastic. It became dangerous to visit after the invasion of thousands of immigrants who are accommodated in the area of the castle. Although it is grat to visit it is not recommended.

A walk in the Castle of Chios through its narrow roads will guide you to the northern part where these old Ottoman baths really surprise visitors.
Their restoration began in 2007 and five years later were given to the public again.
Written sources mention their existence since 1259 AD but time, enemy attacks and finally the earthquake of 1881 occured a lot of damage.
Their fine decoration remind the old good days.
Archaeological excavations brought to light 798 monochrome and decorated tiles. Although they were damaged, they were maintained and placed back, something that surely attract your attention.
Entrance is free.

It is a beach with pebbles, a bit difficult to get in and out. Helps to have water shoes. Very tranquil and clean. Sea gets deep after a few steps which is not easy to find on the island. Sunbeds available. Frequented by locals as well as tourists. There are a couple cafes and restaurants.

A true microbrewery (maybe the smallest in Greece) with the know-how to make some really good beers. Our door is always open to visitors who'd like a small tour around the machinery, or to try some fresh beer directly from the tank, or get their hands on bottles, glasses, coasters and T-shirts.
We'd had the chance to drink Chios Beer during our visits to other parts of Greece, and made a point to swing by their humble operation on the island during our day trip. It was a wonderful experience. Manos -- one of the owners / brewers -- gave us a tour and some samples of their latest fresh beers. The facility is somewhat off the beaten path, but well worth seeking out if you're a beer lover. It's tucked on a back road about 10 minutes outside of the main Chios port. Most people come to Chios for the mastik, but true aficionados know that the real gem of the island is Chios Fresh Beer!

Talk to the owner, Isidoros, and tell him wich wine you prefere, and he will for sure find a wine that suits your taste! They have an amazing wine menue you can choose from as well. Often live music and you feel very welcome. Not much more expencive than if you just take a random glass on another bar, but you will for sure taste the difference in quality, well worth a visit!

Korai's library is one of the biggest, oldest and most important in Greece.
Visiting its halls we were travelled back in time as the whole building, exhibits and decoration brings you in mind important people and events of the past.
Many of Korai's books are here as well as 14 pictured books that Napoleon gave him as a present.
We also admired many collections of manuscripts, portraits, coins, maps and paintings.
Very important is also the collection of the folklore museum with nice dresses, small sculptures with a variety of chian costumes, wooden utensils of every day use, textiles and needlecrafts.
We were really very excited and touched.
Unfortunately photographs are not permitted but you can visit the site of the Library to have a look. (www.koraeslibrary.gr)
