Nature in its best. It is fantastic to imagine the earthquakes that created this edge. Only thing that is negative is the quantity of litter that people leaves during their visit.

On the Lucala River, the falls are 105 meters (344 feet) high and 400 meters (1,300 feet) wide. They are one of the largest Waterfalls by volume in Africa. The distance from Luanda is 360 km.

What a spectacular view of what nature has to offer.
Magnificent scenery.
Also did the climb down to the bottom of the falls.
Not an easy job, lots of mud and quite tricky, but absolutely worth it.
The view from the bottom is breath-taking.
We did this with our 4 year old, not knowing that the walk would be quite hard.....she did it, but had to carry her all the way back.
So do come prepared if you have small kids.
Wear good shoes as it is muddy and slippery with times.
Go in rainy season as this will ensure the best viewing.
January to March is probably best.
If you are a nature lover, this trip is for you!!!!

If go visit Kalandula Falls, a pass near Malange the province capital's, you'll have to ask about "Pedras Negras" .
I wouln't make a journey just to see this specific place, but has i was going to Kalandula, i made some contacts to see what else i could see around this place. I've heard about PEdras Negras, and realize would be not a fantastic thing to see but, my curiosity invite me to discover some different rocks in the middle of nowhere.
Black rocks, it's hard to find, you'll have to ask a lot of times the way to get there, and remember, there's to few reference-points before you realize you are near it.
This place seems to be a touristic place, as it as a guard, and a place to rest and have some drinks (not a bar, just a place...)
it's an interest place to visit, to feel the nature, and think about how the rocks get there. Some of them have names, as its form suggests. Just take a walk feel the dimension, breath Africa, and watch what they call - the attraction - a per-historic foot in a rock.
For me it was a pleasant landscape as you can appreciate in the pictures.
Just visit, when visit simple things you feel more...more than the words can describe.

My first safari experience was in Namibia. So I was expecting to see lots of animals in Kissama.
Kissama, also known as Quiçama, is a quiet place to visit and thus, good to escape from all the stress of Luanda city. I went on a two-day trip last April. Day one took the game drive, but it was disappointing as did not see many animals - saw a few giraffes, some gnus; deers, gazelles,and a big elephant and small birds, too. Day two, went on the boat trip on the river, it was really good. We did the trip in the morning, it was a bright day but not too hot. Saw some birds and a big lizard.
The accommodation facility and service were poor. Next time will plan to spend the day, not to sleep there.
It is advisable to take extra insect repellent and plenty water, and of course sun protection. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to see the animals. There are fees to get into the park, one per adult and another fee per car. I cannot remember at what age kids start paying in order to be admitted into the park. My daughter was five and I did not pay a fee for her only paid for myself and the car.

Here was where the Portuguese navigator Diogo Cao, stepped land Angola in 1482. To mark the discovery of the territory, a landmark called "Standard of St. George" was placed.
Not easy to get here ... there are no organized tours or tourist guides, you must hire the services of a fisherman or sea taxi driver in the region. If you do not know anyone in the city of Soyo, the best option should be to talk to the hotel staff and say you'd like to see the padrão.
The padrão is on the tip of a peninsula, but only get there by boat.
Upon arriving, there is a checkpoint border police and some fishermen only. There is also an association for the protection of sea turtles and thousands of crabs running on sand.
The rest are palm trees, warm water and a sandy area out of sight!

We made a ~2h river cruise to find animals along the way but not much was to be found along the way. The river is vast and cruising along it was an experience. For animal spotters there were several birds and some monkeys found during the cruise. It was a calm and peaceful place to visit and just enjoy the views.

You will enjoy the view over central Luanda and the island of Mussolo. The museum gives a good introduction to the history of Luanda vid focus on 1960-1990 i.e. the liberation struggle and the civil war. Lots of photos of prominent persons as well as various weapons and commentaries heroic paintings. Well worth to see are the blue tiles in the central house which depict important points of Angola's history during Portuguese times.
We had a passionate guide, but only in Portuguese. No signs in any other languages either I am afraid.

with friends, recently visited to this Park..Park situated in Bengo Province, which is around 40minutes from Luanda Sea Port (Novo Marginal)...then from the Park entrance need roughly another 30 minutes to the Safari center...Park charge Kz 2,000/- per vehicle and Kz 4,000/- per person as entrance fees. Safari costs kz 4,000/- per person.
safari duration is roughly 2 hours..the vehicle used (TATA truck) was not very comfortable, in fact they put 4 people in a 3 people Seating bench...
the weather was excellent on the day we chosen.. lot of Animals, some of the Animals seen are Monkey, Elephant, Zebra, Giraffe, Kudu, Bushbuck, Grey Duiker, Dik Dik, wild buffalo etc...
Juice and biscuits are provided during the safari...
one side of the Park is surrounded by the Rio Kwanzaa valley.. boating is also available at Kz 4,000/- per person..
Rooms are available for rent and restaurant is also available. Tariff seems to be very expensive...Bath room/Toilets are available..
Park itself was very beautiful..Very fantastic experience..those who lives in Luanda should must visit this place...
