Dining areas inside and on the outside deck Terrace have been extended considerably, while the restaurant has become a culinary destination for travelers from around the globe. The Tug restaurant offers authentically prepared cocktails, a selection of more than 140 of the finest South African wines, French champagne. Special delights from the wild Namibian ocean include kingklip, kabeljou, lobsters, angel fish and sole, John Dory, local oysters, fresh green Swakopmund asparagus. For the carnivore there are tasty cuts of beef and tender lamb, in addition to game delicacies such as Oryx carpaccio or grilled Oryx steak, Surf & Turf. There is a wide selection for the vegetarian and our delicious homemade Spanakopita is a favorite. Located at the waterfront jetty - you pay a premium for the view - an ideal location for a special dinner overlooking the ocean. Menu mostly local seafoof with generous portions. Excellent seafood and professional service. Caters to tourists, but that’s what Swakopmund is about. Reservations recommended, if not essential.

We ate at Anchors twice and had the oysters grilled with cheese, (not a good choice) special surf and turf along with the calamari (grilled and fried). The portions are generous and unsophisticated and its a nice place on a hot day. There are only two toilets and the restaurant seats about 60.

Jetty 1905

Located on Swakopmund's historical iron Jetty which, after being closed for 10 years was renovated and reopened to the public by The Lighthouse Group on 6 August 2010. Breathtaking views looking back from the Atlantic ocean to land, or out to sea. A varied menu serving seafood dishes, sushi, steaks and more. Perfect for that romantic date or special occasion. A must for every visitor to Swakopmund

We came here for dinner after four days of self catering and were quickly reminded of the delight of creature comforts... had the tuna and honest-to-god goulash soup and both were divine. Staff is attentive and helpful, the location is particularly appealing. Prices were high for Namibia but mid range compared to Europe. The glass of red wine was a generous fill as well. Will go back for our second night because we enjoyed it so much.

Barrels - Restaurant and Bar

This is the kind of place that gets a lot of traction on tripadvisor due to the likable atmosphere in the restaurant, but unfortunately it doesn't meet the expectations. We took the buffet and found ourselves eating overcooked stuff. We ate in the back side of the restaurant and in order to get there we had to walk through the kitchen. Normally an open kitchen is a good sign. This time not. It was really dirty. There are not many alternatives in Luderitz, but the day after we ate in crayfish bar restaurant and the quality of the food is way higher and the service is way better (only the service is slow).
