This imposing mountain towers 14,700 feet on the Swiss-Italian border.
The towering peak of the Matterhorn straddles Switzerland and Italy is an amazing mountain that everyone should have on their bucket list. One of the mountain's secrets is that it has an igloo village at the mountain's base.

Well worth the trip out here - we did the circuit hike. First half pretty steep up and a bit muddy. Most descriptions didn’t mention but there are quite a few places to have a meal on the way including the farm at the top, as well as to refill water. Also great scenic picnic spots so worth coming for the day.

Oeschinensee is accessible by foot from Kandersteg within 1.5 hours. The cable car operates in summer and winter season daily from mornings till evenings - non stop. In summer enjoy swimming in the lake, boat rides on the blue and clear water or just have fun with the toboggan run at the top station of the cable car. Several hotels around the lake offer rooms in summer. Restaurants are open in winter and summer. The region belongs to the Unesco heritage Jungfrau-Aletsch.
Easily accessible for families with small children. The lake can be reached after a 30min walk or in 5min via a small electric bus (8CHF each way). The views are breathtaking and there is a nice restaurant by the lake to enjoy a meal. Not to be missed!

Not many mountain lakes are just a few steps from the cable car; Daubensee is one of them and it is definitely worth visiting it. The view is amazing and changes every 50m along the loop around the lake. The reflection of the mountains on the water is incredible and there are many spots for nice pics. Therefore, consider more than 2 hours to complete the loop, especially if there is snow on the path. And take some food with you, so you can have a pic-nic with a view, and what a view!

We want to take your skiing to the next level. It's that simple. Element is a unique Ski School in Verbier with a focus on quality and on making sure our clients have the best possible time on the mountain. The team is deliberately small - a hand-picked group of the very best, most experienced ski instructors. We offer Private Ski Lessons, Off Piste Lessons, Women's Camps and Ski Instructor Training Programmes. And we'd love to hear from you.
As a group of complete beginners, we have skied with 4 different instructors from Element so far. Each individual instructor had their own teaching style, but all brought learnings that complemented our continued improvement overall. Will, Guy, Jack and Tom all put us at ease and were great fun to work with! Emma & Lucy were also great with helping us book or amend lessons. They were flexible, friendly, client-centric: can definitely recommend the team! (In fact I did actually recommend them and brought some additional friends to book with the school since our first lessons). Thanks Team Element, keep up the good work!

TITLIS is the jewel in Central Switzerland's crown and the only publicly accessible glacier in the area. You will feel on top of the world as you take in the spectacular panoramic views of snow-covered mountains and unspoilt Alpine landscapes. The TITLIS ski area is home to more than 80 kilometres of pistes, with slopes to suit every ability. The season lasts from October until May. And in the summer, the mountain is a mecca for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
The highlight of our European holiday. Just outstanding the tour from Zurich via Lucerne to Mt Titlis just Devine. The mountain experience delightful we walked the glacier walk, across the suspension bridge and took a ride on the chairlift, we had the best weather, enjoyed a nice drink on the deck and took the rotating gondola ride down to the village. So recommended, expensive but once in a life time trip.

It takes you just 32 minutes by Cable car to reach the summit of the 2970 m high Schilthorn. Enjoy the beautiful view of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau (UNESCO World Heritage) and on more than 200 other summits.
The Schilthorn on a cool clear day you really can see what looks for ever. Schilthorn is magnificent and view from the restaurant Piz Gloria is excellent well matching it’s beautiful setting.

Icy air streams across your face, snow crunches under your feet, and the view nearly takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Mittelland up to the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch glacier, bordered by four thousand metre peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 metres above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.

Swiss Alps are breathtaking, all worth it...ready for my next adventure. The Alpine region of Switzerland, conventionally referred to as the Swiss Alps, represents a major natural feature of the country and is, along with the Swiss Plateau and the Swiss portion of the Jura Mountains, one of its three main physiographic regions
