The 10 Best Sports Complexes in Western Cape, South Africa

November 12, 2021 Fernanda Pittenger

South Africa’s most popular tourist destination offers the urban thrills of Cape Town, its adjacent wine country and an aura of the rich political history of South Africa. The Overberg's perfect whale-watching perches provide excitement of a different nature. The Garden Route's lakes and forests and the Klein Karoo's ostrich-farming towns and vineyards present another take on the Cape. For extra kicks, try bungee jumping or cage-diving among Great Whites.

The Bike Park

Reviewed By skistar15 - Cape Town, South Africa

The constania Bike park is situated on the constania Uitsig farm. At the bike park there is a full bike shop that sells bikes and related equipment. They also have a full range of bikes and helmets to rent for the day. You only pay per rider which is awesome, which means you can take the kids along and only pay for the riders which is great! They have a special before 9am where you get R25 off for your entry. The tracks range in difficulty from easy pump track for a 2 year old to some mental wall rides! There is something here to challenge everyone's technical abilities. They are constantly improving the tracks as well at the bike park. It is a great activity with kids of any ages as the entire park is fenced off and they cannot get lost, I do suggest constant supervision for the younger ones as there are some sections that require vast amounts of skill. As a bonus, at the bike shop they also serve coffee!

Always wanted to go to Newlands since first seeing the ground on TV with Table Mountain as a backdrop. Went to the SA v England ODI and although England didn’t win (I’m from the UK), I loved the experience which will live with me forever.

I’d wanted to watch cricket at Newlands for a long time..so being able to watch England play South Africa in an ODI was ideal. The sun shone throughout, the view of Table Mountain was well, perfect. The atmosphere was great. Really friendly and welcoming,Yes it would have been nice if England had won, but that didn’t matter in terms of it being a memorable day out. I used Uber to get there and back. Follow the driver’s instructions for the pick-up point after the game. Even if you’re not a cricket fan, this is a place for a great day out. If you are, why haven’t you been already!?

This is a fab pool with a great view and amazing scenery ! You have three great pools one paddling pool for the little ones. Then the next stage up pool, as an adult comes up to your waist. You are left with the main pool which is a little bit cooler than the ones before. You also have a diving pool as well ! Before you arrive you have to pay which is not expensive . Before you go down to the pools you are made aware of the pool temp which is a few more degrees warmer than the sea because the pools a filled with sea water ! You have changing rooms with lockers, but you can take you belongings with you to sit on the benches beside the pool !
