Reviewed By tshumStaffs were very helpful and friendly, spoke good enough English. With public onsen in next building. Very good facilities. Breakfast with a lot of choices and taste very good, but on Sunday morning was very busy then had no seat. Spa also prepared dinner, it had all kind of Japanese food with good value. I will come back if I will visit this area again.

Value Ryokan for a weekend away from Tokyo
Reviewed By QuietRoomsSimple, standard ryokan in the middle of Chichibu village, very good value. Rooms typical Japanese style, quite nice, view onto a little garden. Very powerful aircon, and good sound isolation. Totally silent, slept like a baby. If you need total quiet suggest you tell them so they don't book you into the room right next to the rotenburo. One little problem was the pillows which were unacceptably soft, so I asked for a harder pillow and they concocted one by packing two small sobagara pillows into one pillow case and tightening it with a knot. Not ideal but did the trick. Suggest you call ahead or bring your own pillow. Food was standard ryokan fare, nothing to rave about but good enough. The rotenburo is small but neat, the indoor bath a bit shabby but again, it does the job. Ensuite toilet and bathroom tiny as is the custom in these lands. Suggest you use communal bath, as, again, is the custom here anyway. Nearby mountains make for good hiking, the valley and stream behind Lake Sakura (cf Urayama Dam) quite lovely for cycling and a dip in the cold stream.

疲れたときの隠れ家
Reviewed By GoPlaces803584日本秘湯を守る会のお宿巡りをしている小生、こちらのお宿へは疲れがたまったとき(厳密にはたまりそうな時期に予約して)訪問しています。 秘湯のお宿としては東京からのアクセスもよく、電車でも来やすいため、「何もしないをしにくるお宿」として、貴重な隠れ家になっています。 お宿の名前にあるように榧の木の香りのするお風呂がもたらす癒しに、いつも疲れが溶け出していくのを感じます。また、木造の床などいつもピカピカで、裸足で歩きたくなります。 スタッフさんも長く勤められている方が多く、対応も安心して任せられますし、いい意味で放っておいていただけるため、気軽に過ごせます。部屋数も多くないため、お風呂で密になるようなこともなく、食事も部屋食ですので、その点でも安心して過ごせます。 料理は派手さはないものの、山の幸をを中心としたヘルシーなもので、若い方だと少し物足りないかもしれませんが、品数も多く満足感はあります。特筆すべきは〆を手打ちそばに変更できること。わずかに追加料金となりますが、毎回お願いしています。さらにお夜食用に一口サイズのおにぎりをいただけるのも嬉しいポイントです。 今回はチェックアウト時に車の窓が凍っていましたが、女将さんみずからぬるま湯をを掛けて溶かしていただきました。こうしたひとつひとつがいかにも秘湯のお宿らしくてお気に入りです。 しいていえば、秘湯のお宿としては、浴室にもうすこしバリエーションがほしいかなと・・・トータルではコスパ含め大満足です。あと一点、子供連れはNGですのでご注意ください。

あっという間の４時間でした
Reviewed By hypersign3110アルカリ成分の高い温泉を求めて探していたら埼玉にあるというではないですか。 ときがわ町までドライブがてら行ってみることに。 こちらの施設は旅館と施設名についていますが宿泊はできません。 事前予約の日帰りプランのみ。当日は日中はいっぱいというので夜の部で予約。 夕食付でお値段は一人約9,000円ほど。なかなかいいお値段ですがくどいようですが宿泊はできません。 温泉はph11以上という未知の世界。すごーく滑らかトロリで湯に浸かっていると溶けてしまいそうです。湯の温度は暑すぎず長湯するにはちょうどいい塩梅でした。 体によさそうなヘルシー志向の夕食も悪くはありません。 接客も丁寧でまた来たいと思わせてくれます。今度は日中に訪れたいと思います。

山里の地に似合う民宿
Reviewed By NaokiS84例年、秩父の山歩き(散歩程度)のベースに利用数回。近年、モダンになり、そばカフェなどもあるが、荒川本流に近い瀬音を感じる宿。夕食が山里らしい。風呂もゆっくり入れる。部屋は古いが、新館は内装も新たにwifiもある。剣道場もあり、バーベキュースペースは屋根つき。

宿泊先に猫？
Reviewed By Travel812038紅葉シーズンにお休みが取れたので、都心から離れてゆっくりしたいと思い秩父長瀞をチョイスしました。 紅葉シーズンの連休でどこも満室が多い中宿が取れました。 まず、台風の影響なのか宿泊先近辺は土砂崩れや倒木多く、通行止めの看板。その先に宿泊先があるらしいとナビ。 どんな所に到着するか不安でした。 19時頃到着し、合計5〜6匹の猫が駐車場、フロントに… フロントのドアを開けると共に室内へ。今日はあいにくの雨ですが、上も下もなく出入り自由をお客さんの前で？ フロント、お風呂へつながる通りも臭いが強く、宿泊先に猫（動物）は不衛生極まりない！！ 朝の朝食時も厨房付近から猫の鳴き声。 お部屋、食卓に少しでも繊維モノを見つけると「これは猫の毛か？」と疑ってしまいます。 好きな人には良いのでしょうが、好き嫌い別として、衛生面問われる今の時代にどうかと思います。 ちなみにおかみさんが親切と言う書き込みをよく目にしますが、いつまでもペラペラ用件にたどり着かず、周り口説く話が長いだけだと感じました。
