It is very beautiful place. The lobby and gardens feels like you have travelled back in time to classic Japanese shogun house (assuming this is what rich shogun lived like back in the days - lol). Rooms are very nice and service was good too. Slightly pricey but it was a good experience.

Hotel
The hotel is typical native traditional hotel and spa with rooms authentically designed of native bedrooms. except for the somewhat lack of soft mattress, our sleep was relaxing and you get to experience the way the japanese live in their typical house. food was great and the staff accommodating and polite. Good hotel to have a good relaxing couple of days.

Isawa/Kasugai Onsen, a hot spring resort representing Yamanashi Prefecture, is about 90 minutes from central Tokyo with easy access. “Kasugai View Hotel” is only 5 mins from JR Isawa Onsen Station, offers crab as much as you can eat and a healing spa. At the dinner buffet, you can eat as much rich meat of snow crab as you want, also steak and Kushiage cooked at an open kitchen-like counter is recommended. Besides, you can enjoy about 40 dishes and a fulfilling luxury buffet of Western, Chinese, Japanese style cuisine and even sushi. There are 71 rooms in total, 14 Japanese style rooms, 3 Japanese-Western style combined rooms, 54 Western style rooms. There is also an outdoor bath overlooking the garden and you can relax and enjoy the hot spring. Wireless LAN (Free Wi-Fi) is available anywhere in the hotel, you can use the internet comfortably at the lobby as well as your room.
We arrive quite late at night, the staff were excellent, very polite and helpful. The room was kinda old, but still acceptable to other people, there are few vending machine around the hotel. There is also a small shop near the check in selling souvenirs and mineral waters. The spooky about this hotel is the Japanese doll on the lobby hotel. Dinner was good, we had crab!

The size of the room is big in comparison with the small rooms in a lot of Japanese hotels. The service in particular was above and beyond, I cannot say enough about the helpfulness and friendliness of all staff members. My colleague together with me on this trip to Yamanashi was speaking Japanese. This helps as the staff don`t speak English. Part of the decoration let us have a feeling of living in the Showa times. Both, breakfast and dinner was excellent. This Ryokan has a bamboo garden next door accessible to guests of Kikori and as well a spa (Onsen = Japanese hot spring and the bathing facilities). This hotel is a good choice, if you want to try a local Japanese hotel.

Isawa Onsen, a hot spring resort representing Yamanashi Prefecture, is about 90 minutes from central Tokyo with easy access. “Isawa View Hotel” is located in the center of "Sakura Onsen Street" where hot spring hotels are lined up, and 5 minutes by car from JR Isawa Onsen Station. The Japan modern appearance is eye-catching, and if the weather is good, you can see Mt. Fuji from the see-through lift. A little stream flows in the hall, and you can look at the pond with large colored carps from the lobby. There are Japanese style rooms with 15 tatami mats and a hori-gotatsu (feet warmer) and Japanese style rooms attached to a twin bed room. Both rooms have a calm atmosphere of Japanese style, so you spend your time relaxing.
- Location: no attraction around there - Room: quite old with uncomfortable futon and in-room mat when comparing with other ryokans - Food: standard Japanese set for both dinner and breakfast. One dish I really like is just sweet and sour jelly. - Only 2 elevators but still ok.
