We will be pleased to recommend you our favourite places to eat, the things in Wanganui that you absolutely shouldn't miss and hope you will have a great stay with us! Our motel is the closest one to town; depending if you want to take the 'scenic route' along the river or the more direct 'residential' way you could be in our main street within 5 -10 minutes walk. Restaurants and cafes are all within walking distance, so are the historic riverboats that go up the Whanganui river, the art galleries, the museum etc. Our motel has 15 different units; are you looking for low-cost, for a room with a view, for a family unit or for a unit with a spa bath; we have it all!

Reviewed By rosarosita01The room was clean and smell great. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. It is also near the river and near the city centre as well, very convenient and peaceful. Well, it is in a lovely city so it is lovely as well. I would def come back.

Reviewed By Jeannette BAn older style motel that is an easy 15 min walk to town. The unit was very clean. It had a seperate double bed room and a lounge/dining kitchenette with 2 single beds. A modernised bathroom. Well worth looking at if you want a nice tidy motel at a good price. Friendly staff too.

Reviewed By fawthecawz151 has gone downhill since our last stay last year. $160 a night for 2 of us and we had to stay a week as our house burned down and payment was covered by insurance. She tried to make us feel worthless. NO ROBES ANYMORE, NO BUBBLE BATH NO NOISE AFTER 7PM NO DOGS NO SMOKING OUTSIDE YOUR ROOM even though there are ash trays NOT ALLOWED TO RING THE OFFICE IF SOMETHINGS WRONG BECAUSE SHES TOO BUSY Microwave didn't work and I told her and she just brushed it off. NO LAUNDRY AS SHE PUT SIGNS ON THE DOOR SAYING GUEST LAUNDRY NOT AVAILABLE NO BBQ AS GAS BOTTLE EMPTY Definitely not good considering other motels have full kitchens for a cheaper price. Won't be going back there

Reviewed By ClareJPulThis really is a lovely motel. It is situated on a quiet street but very close to the town centre. Everything in the CBD is walkable. The rooms are modern, spacious and very clean, the new carpet is lovely. I must also mention that the last minute addition to our parties number was accommodated with a larger room/ and bed to fit this extra party member when we would have been happy with making do, all the more kind as the motel was fully booked on the night in question. It was kind of the owners to make this possible thank you. I highly recommend this motel should you need a nice and comfortable place to rest up in Whanganui.

Value for Money & good old Kiwi hospitality

Yes, the rooms are dated (the bathroom in particular) and the beds could be a bit more comfortable BUT it was spotlessly clean and I had more than enough room in the one bedroom standard suite that had a full kitchen area, separate bathroom and a lounge area. Graeme was more than welcoming upon arrival and even put through a load of washing for me which was great after a week on the road. If you like walking, the track that winds alongside the Whanganui River is right across the road and can take you around 3km out to the mouth of the river. Or you can just sit on the banks of the river itself! CBD is only a quick 3 minute drive away or, if you feel inclined, is a very doable walk. Overall, the motel was great value for money and would stay again!

Clean, great service & roomy
Reviewed By rebaquaWe were unsure from the photos, but though dated , almost ‘retro’ we were pleasantly surprised. Gone are the flowery bed covers and the sheets were pristine clean. It had all the amenities we needed for a family of four with two teenagers, well stocked full kitchen and drinks (including hot chocolate) sugar, salt & pepper toiletries etc, plenty of tea towels, washing up liquid etc. The bathroom had plenty of towels, toilet rolls and toiletries for 4 people. There was a choice of sleeping options (with 5 single beds as well as a double). The 2 bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom, lounge and kitchen downstairs. Our double room overlooked the racecourse and the unit was set back from the road so nice and quiet. The unit was serviced daily and staff were on site and easy to find if you needed anything ( not that we did). More than I can say for 4 & 5 star hotels we have stayed in! Not flash, not new, but clean, welcoming with a full kitchen and all the space and comforts you need for a family. We would definitely stay here again ❤️

Reviewed By Torview72Small poky room and bathroom with no kitchen. Room smelled like someone had been smoking in it and left the carpet and bedding stinking. Nowhere to cook any food or wash up. Very poor lighting and noisy busy road outside.

We were a group of 3 and another family stayed in another unit. Staff were available courteous and helpful.
