I didn’t even make it to stay there. I was trying to inform the receptionist that my card had changed for payment. I was spoken to by a very rude man who just kept saying if you have no money in your account it’s your problem I am not your bank. I tried to explain that I had funds but needed to change card details. He just kept shouting that I should ring my bank if I have no money. I have never been spoken to I such a rude manner and in the end cancelled the booking. I would never stay at such a rude and disrespectful place. I wasn’t listened to just spoken over. Will never get my custom. I only gave it 1 as not the option to give zero

Pleasant Good Value Hotel

We have just returned from staying at redwings lodge in Rutland and had a great time. For the price we paid you could not fault this hotel. It was excellent value for money and close to uppingham, oakham and Rutland water. Would not expect breakfast at this price but the added bonus of breakfast was great- cereals, toast, yogurt, fruit, juices, tea/coffee. Room great- clean and tidy and had everything you need. Bathroom well equipped- shower a little tricky to get to right temperature but perfectly ok otherwise. It is a budget hotel so some things a little basic and looking a bit tired but all clean and well worth the price. Couldn’t fault the staff- they were lovely and friendly and happy to help with anything to improve your stay. Would definitely visit again - thank you Redwings for you hospitality and a lovely stay.

I booked this place as it was close enough for me to get to the Metrolink at Brooklands and then on to the Marathon. Very friendly landlady, sorted out a runner's breakfast for me and nothing seemed too much trouble. Room was large and comfortable. I wasn't planning on eating there. However the specials board had some pasta and the place was busy with locals quite a few having meal. Very glad I did.. the steak penne was excellent. Great value stay.

Good pit stop

Reviewed By loopylooKentEngland

no complaints at all. It was a half way stop after 7 hours of driving from Scotland and it was perfect for that. We were met promptly on arrival, friendly check in, and shown to our room and shown the breakfast bits. We had an ideal room, as we had our puppy with us, and was close to the exit door to let him out for toilets. we could see our car from our room too. plenty of dog poo bags supplied but had to hunt around for a bin, found it eventually. Big car park. Very nice Italian restaurant next door which we made use of , excellent meal. Our room was very, bright and floral, and dated but it was clean and very comfortable bed, we did chuckle that it reminded us of 'Crossroads' from the 70's. the Bathroom suite was Apricot, never seen anything like it before, however it was fully functional and did the job at a very reasonable price, so all in all, it was great for a cheap clean pitstop. Breakfast supplies are help yourself at reception, toast, and cereals. Orange juice and water in your fridge with milk. All very much well thought out. Basic but clean. Quirky.

The rooms were basic but spotlessly clean with comfy bed and tea and coffee making facilities. The view from the room window was amazing as we could see accross the country side. We arrived back late from the wedding reception and was greeted by a very friendly hotel staff member who stopped for a chat asking had we enjoyed our evening. The breakfast in the morning was a help your selfe to cereals, toast , orange juice and yogurts which was just what we needed. There is a restaurant which offers full english but we were quite happy with the hotels Freebie. Will definately stay again when we are back in the area and we may bring our pet dog Charlie with us as we found out it is a pet friendly hotel. Basic simple budget hotel with amazing staff and clean comfortable rooms.
