Reviewed By fabiens840We had a great stay at Tiron's house with his family! The food prepared by his wife and mother is the best authentic Sri Lanka food we had so far! The room is so nicely done, with polished concrete, wood and ceramics walls in the bathroom. The balcony is so relaxing! We definitely recommend it for couples and families with kids. The house is far from the main road, the place is calm, and the surroundings so peaceful. Mr Tiron organized us a first class safari with Mr Taranga! Thx again and see you next time hopefully! The rooms are beautiful (the photos don’t do them justice), the beds are very comfortable and the view from our balcony over Lion’s Rock and Pidurangala rock is simply stunning. The food is excellent - particularly the egg hoppers that we enjoyed as part of our Sri Lankan breakfast (the best egg hoppers of our whole trip) And the location is incredibly convenient - within walking distance of both rocks and a short tuk tuk ride into the centre of Sigiriya if you fancy heading out for dinner or drinks. The entire Roo Mansala team was incredibly helpful - arranging a fantastic elephant safari for us, and a driver to Polonnaruwa. Thank you for making our stay so perfect!

Reviewed By 461normanjThe accommodation was beautiful, convenient. The hosts arranged the safari for us at a very good price and even prepared lunch and breakfast to take on the the safari. The safari itself was a great experience and we saw 5 leopards, 4 elephants, a crocodile, many peacocks and lots of monkey. What we particularly liked is that our driver was trying to find the spots with less people and often went in a different direction as the “hurds” of other jeeps. Nonetheless we spotted even more animals than some of the other safari guests that we talked to during lunch. Definitely go to La safari Inn and ask them to arrange everything!!

Awesome Safari Experience, Amazing Team And Treehouse
Reviewed By InKi2007We had a wonderful time at this very special place due to the amazing team, great safari experience and unique ambience. It is not the right place for everyone (see below), but we loved it. Safari and guide: We booked a 3 night package and spent 2.5 days at Yala National Park and one morning at Bundala National Park. We saw a huge variety of animals and birds incl. leopards (3 times on 2 days, see photo), elephants and most other famous residents of the park. The biodiversity and landscape at Yala National Park is awesome and our guide Rumesh was an excellent guide and driver. If you are interested in birds and beautiful landscape, Bundala is also worth a visit. The tours were very well planned and we had an amazing lunch and 2 hour break inside the park at a very nice place near a river. This break is needed on a 12-14 hour safari day and it is great to experience both the early morning and the late afternoon in the park (perfect light for photography and most animals are more active). Before departure at 5 a.m. you will just get a Nescafe or tea, but you will have packed breakfast and plenty of snacks and fruits on the jeep too. Team, accomodation and food The service of the entire team was excellent. If you let them know what you want, they will do everything possible to customize the experience for you. We loved the wide selection of vegetable curries from chef Isha and they arranged special dishes for us even if the planned theme of the evening was different, like e.g. BBQ. The ambience of the camp is unique and it really feels like a camp. Our room (Skynest) was very comfortable and special (canopy level above most trees). At night lamps are setup along the trail to the main building, but better bring a torch additionally. If you bring a several electronic devices (cameras, phones, etc.) to be charged at night, the two power sockets in the room might be insufficient. A power extention with multiple sockets might be a useful addition to the room. Reasons to book or to stay away If you want fast and reliable internet, a swimming pool, a wide selection of drinks or excellent coffee, you should chose another place. If you want to have a very special experience, if you like nature a lot and if you want to get out of the stressful urbon life, Leopard Nest will be a very good choice. Reviewed By kenl44We went to Sigiri Lion Lodge to discover the Sigiriya Rock. It was a fantastic place to sleep over. You can reach the gate to get to the Lions Rock by 15min walking. The accommodation is basic but has all you need, a comfy bed and a great and rich breakfast. You can choose on what time you want the breakfast served and it is freshly prepared and very nice. The host is just amazing! Any question you have he is more then happy to answer and support you at your stay or with your further travel! Can really recommend this place.

Reviewed By Dip1986Ananya beach resort has a breathtaking backdrop. Words cannot describe the sense of relaxation we felt during our three night stay. Our room was spotless, extremely large with an incredible view of the pool and the sea from the balcony and window. The bathroom had hot water at all times of the day. The hotel also had a generator for powercuts so the AC still worked. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had all our meals (breakfasts, snacks and dinners) at the hotel and the food was delicious although a few more vegetarian options would have been nice. We tried different cocktails by the pool and all were made well. The infinity pool was a lovely temperature and the beach was idyllic. If we return to Sri Lanka, we would definitely return to Ananya Beach Resort.

Reviewed By 498rustysI recently stayed with my wife and 2 year old at 02 villas for 1 month. There were so many little nuance things I liked about this place. In no particular order here are some of them. My child is not an easy sleeper and having the beach so close was a God send both for naptime and night time sleeping. You can actually see the beach from the property gates. The walk is maybe 50-100 metres across a railway and then a main road. This part of the beach is super quiet and perfect for putting babies to sleep. The walk there and back always reminded me of the railway scene from stand by me. The gardens the property is set on are also amazing. Litrally on the banks of a river. Which naturally brings a lot of nature and wildlife. The birds that nest in the trees around produce an amazing orchestra of sound at both dusk and dawn that will give you jungle feelings. Sometime a night walk around the garden would be enough to help the little one sleep. The property is far away enough from the road that you cannot hear any vehicles. Yet the sound of crashing waves can be heard in the distance. The hospitality shown to us by the owner Jeewan and his family was emence. I felt like he went out of his way to accommodate us and help in any way possible. The villa is set on the land where he has his own family home, so immediately you feel like you are amongst a local community. Jeewan who is born and raised in Weligama litrally knows everyone and everything about the area and is able to advise and direct you in your needs during your stay, with great wisdom. The level of the finish on the villa is outstanding compared to other properties I have seen in the area. There was even a jacuzzi in our apartment. Fully functional with party lights and a radio/speaker system. The apartments are very well equipped, with comfy new furnishings. The beds in our apartment were the best beds I've ever slept in. The wife agreed There are always people on the property which made it feel safe, not that it is needed. This part of the world is super secure and we regularly slept without locking the doors and sometimes forgot keys in our bike etc. I also really enjoyed the views from the roof which showed river to oneside and railway to another. This was a good spot for early morning yoga. Squirrels climb off the over hanging coconut trees and run around on the roof. Added bonus! I also enjoyed the walk from 02 Villas to the best surf point on weligama beach infront of W15. The walk takes approximately 15 mins. Not only was it a great warm up and cool down before and after surfing, but also a very relaxing walk home. After the fisherman's boats, there are hardly any people around when returning from town, leaving you alone to your thoughts. A few small coconut shacks and food spots along the way, incase you need some fuel. Highly recommend a stay at 02 Villas.

Natural beauty and best food ever
Reviewed By Marije GWe stayed with two small kids. The family cottage was ideal, and so beautifully built with all wooden material. The outdoor shower made you feel even more into nature. The pool was nice with a shallow part for kids. In the backyard a vegetable garden and a view on lion rock and Pidurangala. Dinner served was excellent, such nice curries and Sri Lankan food, also spaghetti was possible for the kids. People super friendly and helpful. Poor wifi but that might help to take a break even more.
