We are located on the Tropical Island of Gili Air and offer various types of accommodation on this beautiful and tranquil piece of paradise set in the heart of Indonesia just off the North Western tip of Lombok. Gili Air bungalows are set within a walled garden area approx 200 meters from the beach and on the Eastern side of Gili Air, which enjoys the sunrise over Mt Rinjani. Set within this garden area is a swimming pool which includes a paddling pool ideal for young children.

Reviewed By Sian JGreat location, quiet as it is set back from the back (about 150m) but very easy to walk or cycle everywhere. It took us less than 10mins to walk to the port and about 3 mins to cycle it. The accommodation was great. I have 2 teens and as there were 3 beds (2 doubles and a generous day bed) in the room, we all had enough sleeping space and there was no need to swap who slept where! The breakfast was very generous and after the 1st morning we didn't order everything we could have because it was just too much food. They are connected to a bigger beach hotel and there is a room service menu that was great for the couple of times we didn't feel like going out again. Staff were lovely and although most didn't have much English, they always got someone who speak to me. My daughter accidentally left her necklace there and 24hrs after leaving I emailed them and they found it and are doing their best to return it to me the safest way. I would very happily stay there again. Lovely bathrooms, my shower had hot water.

Reviewed By Mikkel LThe room was fine, but there were no towels. Wifi was the worst I have tried. One star for the room, one star for the breakfast, and one star for the sweet lady who (although highly pregnant) did everything.

Perfect chilled break
Reviewed By Lizadams95Planned to stay here 3 days - ended up almost a week! We really loved it here. The rooms are big with great air con and are cleaned every single day. The breakfast was really good and filling. It wasn’t by the sea however was a 10 min walk to the sea and 20 mins max to the harbour. The pool was a little dirty - could have been cleaned more often but overall everything was fab and the people who worked here were so nice and quick to help with any problems. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Reviewed By Ceri JWe booked for 4 nights and ended up staying for 7. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, offering help if you need it but not over the top. The rooms are on the small side but they are very well maintained with plenty of storage so it didn’t bother us in the slightest. The pool area is lovely and the breakfast was delicious! We’ve been travelling for 8 months and this is one of our favourite places so far!

Tranquil paradise <3
Reviewed By Ruthie WMy partner and i rented a beautiful room with air conditioner and a lovely view of the fields and cows here and we were not dissapointed. We went around many bungalows and this stood out as the cleanest. I loved the flowers that grew on our room.Breakfast was delicious and served on the beach each day. It is not too far from the hub of the island but far enough away to be quiet and tranquil. We will be back!

Great quiet place to stay on Gili Air
Reviewed By eddiebauerMy gf and I stayed here for 10 days and we have nothing bad to say. The old reviews must have been different management because the staff at Matahari 1 are super friendly and helpful. Donny and Deke are very nice. Always greeting you with a smile and warm wishes. The room is relatively basic, but has everything you need and is comfortable. The beach outside has some of the nicer coral gardens on the island. Its located on the quiet side of the island, so a bit of a walk to most places, but nothing is far on Gili Air. The pool is clean, relaxing and a good place to unwind. Pay no attention to the old reviews of aggressive and sketchy staff, they are no longer there.
