Guesthouse Yakushima has been newly built and opened in Feb. 2014. To create a high quality and reasonable guesthouse is our concept. Locating at the southern part of Yakushima, it is cool in summer and warm in winter.

Reviewed By JH LThis is a cottage south of Yakushima. Very lovely place with affordable prices. The location is quite suburb. With a car, there's no problem. Without a car, the bus schedule is the most important information to travel. Location: 5~10 min walk from bus stop #87 鯛ノ川(Tainokawa). The viewpoint of トローキの滝(Toroki Falls) 屋久島町まごころ市 ぽん・たん館(local product shop) are close. And nothing else nearby. Guests without cars would better not miss the last bus at 6~7 pm. Botanical Research Park is one stop away. The location is between southwest and southeast touristic areas by the way. Facility: Well-maintained cottage with several rooms. Kitchen lounge is so big and comfortable. Guests need to be careful not to open doors to prevent bugs from inside. Coin washer is outside. It's good to run in the early morning or late night. Service: The manager is very gentle and active to help guests' itineraries. He leaves the facility in the evening and comes in the morning. He speaks proper English. Rice ball lunch request in advance is also available with 520 yen.

It is 2 minutes on foot from the high-speed ferry terminal. It excels in the access to the solitary island such as Yakushima Island and Okinawa. Best downtown ' tenmonkan' is good located in Southern Kyushu, that is, walking range. BAR establishes it as an annex in the first floor part. Sakurajima is good at the view from the rooftop. Showers, the Internet and common kitchen are opened free of charge for 24 hours. Air conditioning in all rooms. Wi-Fi in all floors.We have only one parking space. The guest needs the reservation to use our parking space. It cost 500 yen a night. Please ask us if our parking space is vacanted before you arrive at our hostel.

Reviewed By Erna HGross place.. Check in done by stoned guy who rattled off three sentences, shoved a leaflet in my hand when I asked something and then disappeared again. Smelled like smoke everywhere, first hostel in my now five week trip where I had to make my own bed. Nothing around to go eat. Bleh!

Reviewed By wanokosara2月初旬の晴天の日に一泊。島の東側、太平洋側で日の出を見たかったため、目の前が海！の口コミに惹かれて此処を予約。 当日予約はブッキングドットコムでは出てこず、直接電話を入れる。 シングルがなかったため、6人まで泊まれる後ろ側のアパート風の建物アネックスの一室をシングル料金にしてくれた。アネックスは ロフトタイプの和室。ベランダ付き。 ロフトに2名、和室に4名布団がひける。 夕食をバーベキューで予約、前側の一階がカフェの建物の屋上に設置されているドーム型の空間で、暮れゆく空と海の波音を聞きながら、ロケーションは最高。 翌朝の朝日は雲の間からで少し残念でしたが、朝からサーファーが海に。徒歩では移動は難しいが鉄浜海岸も近いし離島らしい宿でした。 バーベキューは炭ではなく、ガスコンロに熔岩プレート。たっぷりのサラダが良かった。 朝食は、トースト、サラダ、ゆで卵、ヨーグルト、コーヒー。ハムやベーコンが有ればなお良し。 スタッフは礼儀正しく、気さく。 英語対応も心配なし。

Wonderful Spirit of a Hostel!
Reviewed By xlneI had a great stay at Tomal Hostel. The location of the hostel is superb, off street enough to be quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to the tram station to access everywhere in town easily. Gotta climb four storeys to reach the dorm but staircases are an every day thing in Japan anyway. It was raining almost daily when I was in Kagoshima, but a variety of umbrellas were provided for our use. I especially loved the subtle light music that was put on every night in the common room. Shoko-san, Tomal's soft-spoken owner, is an absolute dear. She helped me practise my faltering Japanese language skills and were always willing to answer any questions I have about anything. I slept in a room with 4 dorm beds where everyone was kind and considerate. On my last night in the hostel, two fellow Japanese room mates and me had a fun chat using a jumble of Japanese, English and Chinese. Was very grateful for everyone’s patience with my poor command of the Japanese language. I have never spoken so much Japanese in one day and it gave me a tremendous sense of accomplishment!

Great location to catch early train
Reviewed By VickyVickyCStayed for one night in female dorm. Reason to stay because the room rate is cheap and very ideal for late check-in & catching train in early morning. Great location for 5-10 mins walk to jr station. It was quiet and not full at night I stayed. Air circulation in female dorm could be improved.

Peaceful
Reviewed By Louis YAfter a 3 day hike across Yakushima, we arrived at Chinryu-An completely soaked and we found a peaceful place. We were the only guests and we had the place to dry all our stuffs after a few laundry. The common room is really peaceful, it's just the kind of place where you sit down and relax. The onoaida onsen nearby is a lovely public bath, where you can find locals. The evening meal was really good and it was great to have a chat with the owner! As our plane was taking off the morrow in the evening, the owner invited us to stay until our bus come. We had a restful time in this guesthouse!
