Reviewed By sithump2022we did not feel much when we entering the property . but the whole negative thoughts were changed after talking to the friendly staff and the welcome drink which we never tasted before in any of the hotels . room and the dining area is good . normally we are fans of buffet , but the food we got was superb and did not feel any difference of loosing a buffet .the person who arrange our food was extremely good guy who think the sustainability of the the place he work and it is very rare to find such people . having sea bath is our favorite , but lost the chance as sea bath as the sea was rough. surely we will visit your place again to enjoy the sea and the great food. to improve the perception , i would like to suggest that you keep your garden and the surrounding little bit of an orderly manner and keep it attractive the difference is your staff thanks

Reviewed By ashhole2001Visited for High tea, kinda disappointed when the restaurant staff weren't even informed about my High tea reservation when I already spoke to them over the phone and made the reservation before arriving. The restaurant wasn't really how I expected, was so noisy and a bit crowded with locals. The baked and savoury items tasted good but too much just for one person. Asked the waiter to refill my coffee but I was charged extra for that!

Unlike Araliya Beach Resort in the nearest neighborhood you can get personal service here 3. Unique design - you will fall in love at first sight 4. Amazing sea food during all dinners we had 5. The greatest team. There were a number of opportunities to sea how the team cares about there guest during your stay. I have never met such care for the guests

We are a family of four, with small children under 8 and have spent one beautiful week at the Nooot Gedacht hotel in May 2022. We will certainly visit it again. Here is our brief review, in case helpful Hotel and facilities: The hotel is essentially composed of two main parts. One part comprises the old building which is a converted palace, formerly the elegant country mansion of a Dutch governor and subsequently of a wealthy Sei Lankan spice merchant. It is a very charming construction which retains the flavour of the colonial architectures of Sri Lanka. The other part comprises two newer (but not less pleasant) wings which develop around a large and beautiful swimming pool (ideal for children), surrounded by a large and lusty tropical park offering, amongst the others, coconut palms and mango trees. There is also a freshwater lake fed by a natural spring and covered with wonderful water lillies. Despite all the greenery, mosquitoes presence was limited. Last but not least, the hotel had a generator supplying electricity during governmental power cuts. Management and service The hotel is managed by a fine gentleman who runs it with skills and care. The manager has made our stay absolutely pleasant by taking care of all our requirements and helping us arrange our daily trips in a safe and concerns-free manner. The rest of the staff was also very helpful and friendly. Room service and laundry was available and convenient. Bedrooms We had two connected bedrooms. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, with air conditioning and ventilation. Both rooms had ample ensuite bathrooms. Each room had a large private balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. Restaurant & food We dined in almost all days and enjoyed the local cuisine with fresh spices. The traditional rice and curry was by far our favorite choice and the chef was so kind to make fresh variations every time. Location Location wise the hotel is very convenient. It lays at the heart of Unawatuna, along the main coastal road but only 2 minutes’ walk from the start of the little-trafficked/ semi-pedestrian street with cosy restaurants and local shops, which in 5-7 minutes’ walk would take to the Unawatuna beach.

Private beach just a 2 minute walk from the main entrance of the hotel. The pool area was lovely to chill at after a long flight

We have 4 modern rooms with A/C, hot water, mini-fridge, international satellite TV, WiFi, and every room has its own balcony with an ocean view. You can also join us downstairs in our delicious restaurant or have a cocktail overlooking the water.

Rooms are airy, terrace is large with comfy furniture (and candles!) with a nice sea view through the trees. The service was friendly and professional all around. All staff were attentive to guests, especially Ranjit who made us feel particularly special! It is wonderful to know that there are still places where hospitality is still a priority! Highly recommended. We will return!

A luxury boutique hotel with 22 rooms, surrounded by lush greenery and two minutes walk from the lovely Unawatuna Beach. All rooms are air conditioned, has en suite bathrooms with hot and cold water and mini bar. Some rooms over looking the pool or the the garden. The bungalows surrounded by many trees and view of the jungle. Most rooms have large balconies and on request a hammock will be included.

The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Yoga ?♂️ every morning was very good. We had monkeys outside our room in the bamboo trees. We had a problem with our first room but the staff were very good and sorted it promptly. We just had a small gripe..... the staff in the evening spoke very little English and struggled to make them understand. All in all a clean beautiful hotel.

When you are coming to villa gaetano please turn to Heenatigala Road from near the Post Office and turn again from Mangrove Road and come until you find Aturvedic Village Garden then pass the biggest bridge and left side with a green gate is Villa-Gaetano as we are new and a little place there is a little board with ''Melani+Crishan's Home'' Thank you!

Different kind of rooms, we had one of the smaller ones which was even big and also very clean and comfortable, with big bathroom. The big terrasse under a roof offers a sitting area, even on rainy days. Large beautyful garden with hammocks underneath the palmtrees and a clean pool. Wounderful nature around, sometimes you can watch monkeys in the trees, at sunsettime flying foxes can be seen in the sky. Big breakfast with coffee/tee, various kind of bread, rotis, pancake, eggs and fruits. Dinner can be ordered additionally. Tuk Tuk service to the beach road is included. Mr. Gamini is a very humorous communicative and helpful men. We enjoyed our stay!!

Everything was perfect, from the kindness of the staff to the food to waking up each morning in a jungle paradise. We really loved all of the meals, the fresh coconuts and the design of the place. I can't recommend this place enough. It's paradise! We can't wait to visit again soon ?
