A good, well- run hotel with onsen
Reviewed By MunichEricJThe check- in was fast and friendly and the lady who checked me in took the extra time to show me the best place to park my bicycle. Room 821 has a double bed, large work desk, small flat- screen TV and a larger bathroom than usual. There was a kind- of seat and very small table. After the bed and the bit of furniture there was not a lot of room to move around in, though I have seen smaller. The bathroom was nice, with a good fake granite counter and undermount sink. Everything worked well. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. The hotel has an onsen. It is not large. I always look at the view as an indication of degree of care for an onsen and this one was – well, nothing but a wall. There were good amenities in the dressing area. Breakfast was very good. There was not a wide selection but it was all obviously made on- site and done very well, all very tasty. The lobby has coffee and tea machines working throughout the day, a nice plus. The location is near the downtown, such as it is, and the castle park is a short walk away, as is the Akita dog museum.

Bare Bones Business Hotel
Reviewed By Travis SI have four criteria for a business hotel: Comfortable beds, adequate coffee, quality internet connection and good water pressure in the shower. This hotel hit the last two, only. (It hit those well, though it took me a while to find the wifi password - it's in the elevator!) The bed was as hard as the tile carpet and there was no coffee in the room. There was free coffee in the lobby, but the cups were only about 100 mL, so that wasn't really a solution for morning caffeine needs. I was staying for work and they covered the bill for breakfast, but if I had paid, I would have been disappointed. The selection was limited, particularly in terms of breads/starches. Might be good if you're into Japanese style breakfast. Service quality was as expected. One thing that surprised me was the housekeeping. I was staying for two nights and did not need a linen change for that short of a time, so I left the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. I came back to find a full bag of linens and towels hanging from my door handle, anyway. I appreciate the sentiment, even if it wasn't what I intended. The hotel's location was decent. There are a few fast food options and convenience stores nearby and a large Itoku grocery store, as well. Overall, though, because of the bed and coffee situation, I would not choose to stay here again.

Reviewed By Freedom810052想像してたよりかなり良い温泉お宿田舎の一軒と思いきや綺麗な大きなお宿でした。ロビー大きくてドリンクサービス及びアイスキャンディー大きな冷蔵庫にふんだんに詰まってました。お部屋広々冷蔵庫のビールお茶2リットル水ペットボトル無料でした。夕食の個室は旅館と言うより居酒屋個室みたいな部屋でした。扉常に閉めるのでスタッフさん声掛けて開閉するのですが前の個室への声掛けかこちらのお部屋の声掛けか紛らわしい感じがしました貸し切り風呂無料ですがシステムの説明が分かりづらかったです。リピーター多いみたいな宿でした。

Reviewed By JohnDoe33333This out of the way hotel was accessed by bus from the airport. The restaurant provided a good evening meal as a set menu. This was relatively inexpensive. The rooms are well sized in comparison to other hotels in Japan. There is a Family Mart close by for all the necessary items.

Budget Hotel near Odate Station
Reviewed By tanweekokWe went to Odate to visit the Akita Inu Museum and book The Royal Odate which is a 15 minutes walk from Odate station. On check-in we will happy Mr. Nakabayashi the staff at the Front Desk could converse in English. He was joy to talk to as he could practise his English with us and we could get information from him. All the restaurants in town were fully booked due to the Golden Week so we had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was nice. The next morning we had Japanese breakfast in the hotel with some western selections. We took a taxi across the river for about US$10 into the main town to visit the Akita Inu Museum and Keijo Park with Sakura trees in full bloom. We stayed a night and are satisfied with the room and bathroom even if it look dated. The hotel kept a young 8 months old hyperactive Akita dog in a cage behind the carpark. We wish to thank Mr. Hakabayashi for making our 1 night stay most enjoyable.

Reviewed By DHG716Crown Palais is a comfortable somewhat above the average business hotel. Staff pleasant and friendly although lacking English capability. Breakfasts are typically Japanese, with good cooked fish each day. Wifi in rooms is free but somewhat slow. Overall a reasonable choice in this part of Japan.

秘境感満載。すごくオススメ。
Reviewed By FarAway803324外観はともかく部屋は新しいし清潔でした。冷蔵庫あり。またポットがあるのでコーヒーなど含めて食べ物は持ち込めばよいかと。茶葉は備え付けあり。お酒は自動販売機で買うかフロントで注文を。 周囲は電柱があること以外は秘境っぽいので自然満載。近くの川に向かうあぜ道がいい雰囲気。廃線したであろう線路跡や、鳥居が並んでいたりと不思議で秘境な雰囲気でした。 食事もよかったのですが、宿で一番よかったのは風呂！露天風呂から見る星空は本当に最高でした。男風呂からは立派な松の木や水墨画のような山々が見えました。ミストサウナはよもぎの香りが充満してて暑くて気持ちよかったです。
