Reviewed By NineDragonsI came to this hotel with my wife. Our room was on the 13th floor of 14 story building. Room are much larger than a typical hotel. Our room had full set of kitchen and cooking utencils for inroom meal preparation. Many places in the room shows age. Duvet looks worn out. Bathroom needs real cleaning, does't look its been properly cleaned for lomg time. I believe there are better choice to stay in this port town.

Reviewed By CapnKaosI had been to Katsuura once before for a martial arts seminar specifically set up for foreigners in Japan who study it. And up until then, that was the only reason to go there. That is until one day I'm told we're going out to Blueberry Hill for the weekend. I wasn't aware that this was in the same town but luckily it was and that meant I knew my way around. The hotel is very nice and it's set up with cottages of sorts. There's a little sitting area, a couple beds, and a lobby in each where you can hang out, chill and maybe enjoy a beverage from the vending machine. The restaurant on site was very good. There was a pond, some trails nearby and it's right by the ocean as well so it's nice and relaxing.

Reviewed By okapee33ふっこう割でお得に予約でき、系列のプールも使えると楽しみにしていたら、プールは叶わずがっかり。天気の良い日で運転に疲れ早めにチェックインした所、16時まで停電と。部屋もフロントも通電しておらず真っ暗。wifiもダメ。なんの為に電話番号を登録しているのかと憤りました。この日のスタッフの対応以外は問題がなかったので、非常に残念な滞在でした。

Fun studio apartment
Reviewed By cera206We stayed off site a bit at the studio apartment and it was nice! We had access to a washer and dryer although the dryer was a couple blocks away. Very tiny but directly in front of the beach! The owner was great! He picked us up at the train station and gave us the lay of the land which was super helpful! He also took us back to the train station on the way out.

Reviewed By littlemrspottzWe LOVED our stay here!!! A traditional style Inn, with mats on the floors, simple furniture and futon beds overlooking the ocean. The traditional style Onsen/hot tub was perfect for use during our stay. We had incredible food served to us in a private room for both dinner and traditional Japanese breakfast the following morning. Food was INCREDIBLE and while the accommodation is basic it was true traditional Japanese style and just what we were after. Fabulous experience!!!!

"Swept Away" to WWII Soldiers' HideOut
Reviewed By AndraYoDriving through the underground tunnel, the cousins were laughing, "just like 'Swept Away' movie!" The UNIQUE experience is the World War II History. Japanese soldiers of the Secret Kamikaze Torpedo Unit overtook this ryokan as their hideout and they trained in the bay. They dug The Cave Bath around a water well just using picks without any other tools. The entrance was slightly taller than the cousins' waist! The entire area is nicknamed "Utopia". It's a Fascinating Onsen with 4 different baths. There is a large indoor onsen at the top looking out over the little marina, but we fell in love with The Tunnel Onsen. Down a flight of stairs and through the historic tunnel to arrive at this cave-like onsen with the huge picture windows overlooking a beautiful slice of paradise (turquoise sea). Get in the bath before dark as there are no lights on the shore. Alternating night/morning for men/women. One more outdoor onsen for rent (privacy or mixed company) needed to be cleaned after a rain so reserve in advance. Think old-fashioned ryokan, since 1924. Both times we stayed the food was very abundant based on local seafood. Local sake was good too. The rooms were nothing special but clean, and not as small as Tokyo ones. Our large party had dinner in the tatami room but they had put out tables and chairs for us. Not so many rooms so the baths are usually private. Breakfast & Dinner included. No credit cards accepted. English is very minimal. One staff member spoke Chinese. No bar after 10 PM, so definitely not full service. Come to rest...

朝市通りに面するこじんまりした快適で素敵なホテルです
Reviewed By kengonta55８月の盆休み明けに利用させて頂きました。フロントの女性の笑顔と親切で丁寧な対応、案内で気持よく向かい入れて頂きました。部屋はシングルにしては、広く隅々まで完璧な清掃で心地よく、ゆっくりと休ませて頂きました。隣接する夕食の海鮮料理店も接客のおもてなし、質、量共に十分で食べきれない程でした。朝食の和食膳も同様に美味しく申し分ありませんでした。機会がありましたら又お邪魔したいです。
