Perfect Stay

Reviewed By lebierle

K's House is an ideal place to stay. The staff was kind, helpful, and spoke English. The location was conveniently located 10 minutes walk from the station and the beach. The riverside view was beautiful and the old traditional style of the building was stunning. The tatami floors and futon sleeping arrangements was a fun and inherently Japanese experience. The included onsen was also top tier. Everyone in my party agreed we would love to stay again.

Slip out of the city stress and bare it all on a journey to the landscapes of the Izu Peninsula

Nestled in a lush forest beside black, volcanic cliffs this isolated luxury inn radiates serenity. We were led over a little bridge to the outskirts of the sprawling woodland - far away from tetchy twilighters. The individual private hot spring spas scattered throughout the leafy grounds were a welcome relief as we are prude nude bathers. After a tranquilizing, hot soak we sat down for a kaiseki (multi-course) dinner with the nostalgic 77-year old creator of Hanafubuki, Shingo Ichikawa, a wholehearted environmentalist. His son and Hanafabuki’s head chef, Daigo Ichikawa prepared a plethora of impeccable culinary delights. Daigo’s haute cuisine is a work of art highlighting seasonal and local specialties, with many ingredients foraged from the forest floor. From the starter of silky Mineoka tofu, a dish from the Edo period of 1603 to the cherry leaf flavored sea bream sashimi and pheasant and leek skewers our tastebuds were singing like the Japanese robins perched outside the window. As the sun rose the following day, we took a slow amble down a mossy pathway beside a brook, which opened up to the spectacular Jogasaki coastline. Waves crashed onto the dark, jagged cliffs and the beauty of nature was truly laid bare. Following the invigorating hike, my companion and I submerged into our last hot spring bath. As the forest owls hooted that the day was over, wistfully we knew it was time to get fully-clothed and back on life’s fast train.

Great place to stay

Reviewed By Vikas S

We were group of 6 people and found this place as good change as we rented a villa. Property had kitchen and enough space to accommodate us all. It has own onsen within the premises which makes it more attractive choice. There is BBQ place and whole set of BBQ items were available. Place is little away from station so its better to use your own transportation. I think they provide pick and drop services to nearby station. I would surely recommend if you want to spend you holiday in good spacious and wonderful place close to nature. Cheers

Nice but tired looking

Reviewed By bobby6m

I stayed here for one night with my family of six. The accommodation was nice but some parts were showing their age a little. My wife and kids were kept awake at night by the people staying upstairs who let their kids run around until 1 am. Not really the hotels fault but the thin walls had something do to with it. The pool area was nice but some places were showing their age. The restaurant was small and as other places, started by to show its age. I would recommend skipping dinner and buying or ordering and eating in the room. I get the impression that this resort was built back in the 80s and could do with renovating. Overall a nice place to stay and visit the attractions in the surrounding areas.

Reviewed By TriStar1123

A lovely place we stayed at 伊豆高原

Reviewed By Yinping L

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was absolutely a very comfortable and lovely place. It took about 5 minutes taxi from 伊豆高原 station which is convenient. They can also provide pick up service too. The couple was very kind and friendly. She helped us to cancel our restaurant booking and arrange 宅急便 to send back our lugguage to Tokyo and did their best to help us everything on request. You can also play with their lovely kitten, Gigi, if you like. The dinner and breakfast was good as well. We most liked the Bed and Breakfast plan since it was looked like a English High Tea set. We enjoyed to staying here and definitely will come back again. Machikoさん, hope to see you soon!! Eva
