We ordered 3 different pastas: chicken pasta (me), House Pasta (wife) & Bolognese (kids) Chicken was boiled and the sauce was simply milk, garlic and pepper. Not good at all My wife’s food was the same sauce and the meat was also poor My kids didn’t even touch their food and bolognese is their absolute favourite. A child no older than 8 greated us and took our order (after no adults came after 20 mins waiting) When we wanted to leave I needed to wait 5 mins at the bar as everyone walked by. Again the child came first and asked what we wanted. I told them about the food and the lady’s response was simply “oh I know. But it comes to us pre-cooked and boiled. They should’ve grilled it before putting it in the dish but I guess they were busy and didn’t”... I can’t even waste more time writing a review. They aren’t worth it. DO NOT EAT HERE. DO NOT LET YOUR PETS EAT HERE. It was that bad. Oh and the compensation I got was 10kr (350kr total) and an offer for a coffee to go. Fml

Reviewed By carlhI1711KXWe are on a two week Scandinavian vacation. We wanted to see a bit of the countryside so rented a car in Stockholm for a two day drive to Copenhagen. We picked the BauerGarden as a midway stop over. THe BauerGarden is located near a smallish lake. The rooms are a bit spartan but, perhaps, incongruously, the restaurant is quite high level. In addition to serving overnight guests, it is a place for locals to go for a nice night out. The evening we were there the service was slow but that was due to there being a very large business group occupying most of the restaurant. We enjoyed it. Worth a visit if you are passing through.

Best would be to spent some more time than just one night in order to get into the castle feeling and history. Reviewed By G195CPhelenahWe totally love this charming hotel so when we decided to get married at Visingsö, Amalias hus was the obvious place to stay. The staff has treated us so well and everything, the room, the breakfast, the dinner, the staff that really catched our “vibe” and made the whole stay so delightful has been even better we ever could wish for. (And as it’s our third stay, our expectations we’re high, but they managed to exceed them!!) We’ve stayed here before and we will definitely go back!

Rooms cold, restaurant disorganised
Reviewed By stupooWe primarily came to this hotel for the restaurant on part of a road trip. The rooms was quite small but quaint. We came in summer and it was a cold day out. The room was cold, especially the bathroom. Beds are very comfy though. For the price the rooms are very average. The restaurant promised a lot from reviews. The menu was limited if you don’t like fish or seafood. If you are vegetarian, there was nothing on the menu for you apart from the desert. Our first course took at least 45 minutes to arrive. It looked great but the gravad lax was average and the subtleties of taste of various components were lost on a sea of wasabi and salt taste. It needed some bread or something to mop up the juices. Portion was just a few moth fulls. The main took another 25 mins after first course. My lamb dish looked great and had great tastes but the portions were way too small for the price of 295kr. It left me feeling very hungry after 2 courses. The trout was cooked well, but had no carbs on the plate and was laying on some cabbage and other things . It tasted ok but had these really tasteless rice crackers on top which brought the dish down. The best was the home made magnum ice cream. That was amazing and I wanted to eat 2 and was the best value on the menu. The Reason I was most disappointed was the portion sizes and the service. They could improve by having more staff with better training, a pre dinner snack, quicker service ( it was painfully slow) and a better thought out menu with different options. They are really trying hard but failed on service and portion sizes. The hotel did give us a starter on the house because of slow service which showed they cared, but still tried to charge us!

Reviewed By philipsG5459IHHaving traveled all over the world and seen all there is of a truly original experience from NYC to Tokyo, i can tell you that leaving this place left me feeling more in touch with Mother Earth and what is important in life. I was invited to join a small gathering to try out their recently revived menu, and giving my thoughts. I will only shortly touch on the food, as it is in my view secondary to the over all experience. In their effort to build a menu around sustainability and health, their team presented a 8 section service. Each course as delicious and beautiful as the next. It had a very natural flow from course to course. All the ingredients was from no more then a few kilometers away, every single detail ingeniously considered to minimize our carbon footprint and off course to delight in our senses. Sitting there in the middle of nature, and letting all the senses be exposed was more then just a culinary experience. I think everyone should at least give this a try as it shows a whole new way of engaging with the food industry. And that it is possible to be kind to earth and still eat great food! I will soon revisit this tiny gem, to find my peaceful spot.

Familyfriendly, nice hostel with personal service and wonderful location in Granna Harbour. Close to the beach, Visingso traffic and the Centre. There are 52 beds in 18 two-bed rooms and 4 four-bed room. Newly renovated bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen. Buffet breakfast is served daily between 8-10 May-August. Restaurant & Cafe with food, wine, coffee, sandwiches, waffles and much more!
Strandterassen ligger vackert nära hamnen och med utsikt över Visingsö.
Reviewed By 897bokEnkel och funktionell vandrarhemsstandard med våningssäng, två fåtöljer, skrivbord, garderob och delad toalett och dusch. Det var kallt i rummet, men Lina från Strandterassen fixade till elementet och sen blev det varmt och gott. Jag gillar den här typen av slitna, men välskötta vandrarhem med bedagad charm.
