Great service especially from Thato and a great stay

Reviewed By 45nishk

I stayed at the hotel for a few weeks whilst on business. I found the level of service to be really high - the receptionists, waiters, housekeepers - everyone was really attentive, friendly and happy to help however they could. I found one of the waiting staff, Thato to be especially great! She was always on hand to help me with questions I had about Botswana, things to do in Gaborone and which food to try. She was always very personable and made my stay much better!

Well located once grand hotel. Entrance was unkempt with long grass on the palm lined drive way. Hotel itself clearly had its hay days but now appears dated.Rooms spacious clean. Beef baron restaurant offers generous portions. Famous Botswana beef delicious. Bars closed at 21:00 hrs due to COVID restrictions. Staff could have been more welcoming. Ok place..

One night stay for a recent biz visit. Collected by Dan at airport, very friendly and helpful chap, who remembered our names the next day upon check out. Efficient check in, room typical Hilton style, although the room I had didn’t contain the basics of bottled water / soap, house keeping clearly forgot. Aircon good, breakfast great, good location. Not many people staying so bar didn’t have any vibe of an evening so went across road for dinner. Staff in general really good. Would stay again.

Marriott Needs to Send a Team Down Here Quick

Reviewed By jameshS7223UI

Find it hard to believe this place is affiliated with the Marriott Hotel chain. Since I arrived I have had to report issues each day and these are not minor ones. Broken A/C resulted in having to move rooms. Freezing cold water when taking showers and shaving in sink. Broken windows in rooms (severe cracks), unknown bugs crawling out from gaps around wall covers. I requested an iron and ironing board as the rooms apparently do not come with a set. I tried to set up the board and it collapsed on my finger because it was missing a screw to hold the legs in place. Mold and gaps all around the tub/shower enclosures. And the tub itself is difficult to step out of as it is approximately a 20-22 inch high tub and it is difficult to climb out with one foot and try to lift your other leg out, and hopefully not slip on the floor. This stay is for another five days and I am wondering what else will go wrong.

Great Service

Exceptional staff / average hotel. The shower pressure was extremely low and strangely we were given only one towel (there were two of us) each day. The restaurant was closer to being a school canteen, but the location was great as was the guarded off-street parking.

Very expensive for what is on offering

Town Lodge Gaborone increased their tariffs to P1325 for bed & breakfast. That makes it very expensive for a 2 star venue compared to other 5 star venues where you pay from P1110 per night for Bed & Breakfast. The breakfast is costing P175 which is a lot for what they offer.
