Reviewed By BZimm08My wife booked this hotel for us for our weekend in Beppu. We selected this hotel based on the price, parking, and location. It is within walking distance to the train station and down town area. They have parking here which is a plus. The staff was very friendly, the individual helping us spoke great English which made check in/out easy. They have breakfast here, because of COVID, it was not buffet style, but the trays were nice and the food was great. The rooms were perfect, they were modern, spacious, and had everything we needed, plus the bed was comfortable. Overall, we had a great stay here.

What an indulgence
Reviewed By SKW66We booked the Executive Japanese Western Style Suite which was located in the middle building out of the 3. There was a little tatami room where the staff kindly made the mattresses during dinner time where our 2 young kids could sleep. Then my husband and I occupied the remaining 2 double beds which was just A LOT of space! Dinner was served in one of the restaurants in the same building. Our family of 7 was glad that we got to occupy in a private dining room. Too bad the weather was cloudy that we couldn't see the sun rise at 7am. The suite had a big living room area with a balcony facing the horizon. The view in a cloudy day was already stunning. It's a pity we couldn't see it in the best weather. The breakfast buffet at the same building got so many food choices we didn't get to try everything we would like. This was also because the breakfast time ended at 9:30am... Unlike in other hotels where they would let the guests finish the remaining food even though breakfast time is over, here the food was already being removed at 9:30am.

A good rest place
Reviewed By anitasimxqWe were given a room that was facing the sea and we stayed two nights. An average yet convenient inn that I would say about Nishitetsu Resort Inn Beppu. The inn is located at the onsen area which can be reached by foot 10min from the JR Beppu station. Average small room of Japan hotel with public onsen, washing machine, vending machines, microwave and all basic amenities. The breakfast had changed to Japanese set style to due to covid-19 issue but the portion was well thought. The hotel is also the main bus station to tour Beppu and Yufuin. Very convenient.

Amazing view of Beppu
Reviewed By travelbird188The hotel is situated at the hill with an amazing view of Beppu City and Beppu Bay. The onsen and the heated pool are great with great views. It is so nice seeing the sunrise while relaxing in the onsen. The food in the restaurant are great, especially the beef and goose liver. Overall speaking, it's a great experience.

Reviewed By VTSMRoom is above average size in Japan. Interior decoration a bit dated. Services are generally good. The hotspring pools are acceptable. That said, I didn't feel the hotspring water slippery onto my skin and no sulphur smelling. Wonder if the water is real hotspring. Asked their staff who confirmed yes. But this was not my prior experience in hotspring water. You could literally smell sulphur when you passed by some hotspring sites.

Great stay
Reviewed By lizcyniWe stayed one night in this modern hotel with onsen in the center of Beppu. It’s located five minutes away from the Beppu JR Station. Although its location is in the city center it’s very quiet without any noise from traffic outside. The hotel is beautifully decorated with bamboo theme which is a special product of Beppu. The lobby area looks stunning overlooking a beautiful garden. The whole hotel is floored with bamboo tatami which I think is very special. Footwear is not allowed in the hotel. The moment we entered the front door we were asked to remove our shoes. They even cleaned the wheels of the luggage. We took two rooms for four of us. The room is very spacious with separate toilet and a big bathroom. Amenities included a kettle for coffee and tea making and a capsule coffee machine. The free yuzu drink in the refrigerator tasted delicious. The complimentary traditional steamed buns with yuzu at the lobby with tea and coffee was a nice touch. Guests are given socks and a pair of loose fitting pyjamas outfit instead of traditional yukata. The onsen area is bright and modern. There’s an indoor and outdoor baths. The dinner and breakfast were great and plentiful. Most of the staff can converse in English. The reason I did not give a five star rating is because our room on second floor has an unpleasant sewage smell which I didn’t detect when we check-in. The odour was pretty bad at night. It could be due to second floor is next to the in-house restaurant. Overall we did enjoy our stay. I would recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By DanielC16232We stayed 2 nights. Hotel is basic but has a quaint flair. This is what we liked about it: 1/ Great location : Walking distance to 2 shopping malls 2/ Room is comfortable. Bathroom a little old but functional. 3/ Onsen is very decent. Great thing is it is not crowded 4/ Breakfast was great! They serve breakfast rather than a buffet spread. Portion was substantial and quality was excellent. 5/ They play vinyl records in the cafe and lobby! ??

Seaside Hotel Mimatsu Oetei Review
Reviewed By CHCheong173This hotel is about 10-15 mins walking from the JR Beppu station. It is easy to find as you just walk towards the seaside until you see the Beppu Tower beside a main road, the hotel is behind it. There is a 7-11 beside the tower, and a bus stop in front of the tower, so is quite convenient. If you take the bus to visit the 7 Beppu Hells starting from the JR station and follow the sequence, i.e. Chinoike and Tatsumaki Jigokus as the last two hells, and you take the bus towards the Beppu station, you can stop directly in front of the tower, this complete a full circle of your Beppu Hell tour. I booked a seaview Japanese room and the view is great. The room is also spacious for Japanese ryokan standard. There is some minor renovation and furniture replacement done, so the room is a mixture of new and worn. There are two onsen baths in this hotel: one at the top floor, an open air onsen bath and one at third floor, which is an indoor onsen bath. The dinner and breakfast are both average though. Overall, I am quite happy with my stay here.

Very traditional hotel
Reviewed By SteveAndKaySurreyGreat location a few hundred yards from the station. There’s good onsite parking if you need it, large and pleasant reception and lounge and good Wi-Fi. The hotel also has its own Onsen which we didn’t have time to use but which we understood was really good. The bedrooms were a bit dated but large and comfortable as were the beds. The TVs were small with only local stations available. The small en-suite looked and felt as though the entire thing including floors, walls, ceiling, door and fittings, had been provided as a drop in unit but is all functioned well enough and the heated mirror above the sink was a welcome feature. The WC itself was the usual Japanese creation incorporating both loo and bidet with heated seat - very unusual but you soon get used to it. The bed linen and duvets were very good but the towels were pretty small and had been laundered to within a millimetre of their useful working life. Breakfast was mainly Japanese but saved by a good egg station. The staff were very pleasant and several had good English.
