Island Night was OK

Reviewed By tully1971

Went to the Island night and did not stay at the resort. The resort itself was very nice. Paid $65 each for buffet and the entertainment. The food was very good and plentiful. The service was quite slow. Also they seemed to be trying to make money left, right and centre. Charged 3.5% for using credit card, as it was an "overseas credit card" so they had to, none of the other resorts we visited did that. A raspberry and coke for the kids was $8 each and we asked for some water, but apparently "the water is not filtered" so the only option was bottled water at $7 per bottle, so it felt like they were trying to gouge as much money as possible. The show itself was OK

Beachside Perfection

Gorgeous garden setting flowing right onto a beach where you are lucky to see another person passing by. Great snorkeling, great bar food at great prices, comfy nicely appointed thoughtful accom. Don't miss the fish curry for $20 - swordfish one night, marlin the next. Was given a surprise upgrade to deluxe so I could be near a friend. Adjoining decks perfect. This is a small adults venue with a personable feel vs. resort. No need for a pool. Hammocks, quiet & sheltered from occ. rain. Staff are so warm & friendly & a nightly drink at the Shipwreck Hut is a must. Steve & Geraldine are the owners. There is nothing they won't help you with. Anna is Office Manager and is the same. Just awesome people and an awesome place.

Pleasant indeed

Reviewed By Brasoo

This is an easy resort to stay in. Rooms are single level and every room is close to the beach. Yep probably be great to have beach front room but I didn’t think ours which was 3 rows back I think was a problem. Our room was very clean and housekeeping was done every day in good time. The staff around the resort were all extremely friendly and helpful. Hubby didn’t like the outdoor shower he found that weird, and I’m not sure how it would go if it was bucketing down. There is no tv or radio in rooms, at first we found that strange but then started to talk to each other lol. Wifi was pretty bad but the last 2 days of our stay they changed it and it’s now free and much better all round the resort. The restaurant is amazing, we never had a bad meal. I thought the breakfast which is included was great, fresh fruit, yoghurt, toast, cereals , juice, coffee/tea and even pancakes. You can pay for cooked options. There is a car hire place over the road and also a store. You can walk to a few other restaurants in each direction within 10 mins. The pool is lovely and the whole area is peaceful and pleasant to enjoy. Manuia have some resort activities like ukulele lessons, mystery tour and drop off to the Saturday market. Very pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Would definitely stay here again

We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa. It was beautiful, set in peaceful and quiet, well kept grounds. Across the road from the beach and a bus stop. Self catering, there was a hob and a microwave, with all the basics for what we needed. Bathroom is spacious and modern. There was aircon in the bedroom, which we didn’t need, and a ceiling fan in the bedroom and lounge areas. There are insect screens on all the windows (which we just left open) and mozzie coils were in the cupboard. Breakfast was included, and comprised fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, toast and tea/coffee. Served between 7.30 and 9.30 and delicious. There’s a guest laundry, operated by a token ($5 from reception) for the washer and dryer. There are also clothes lines to use. Works out way cheaper than the local laundromats. The ladies servicing our villa was delightful and very friendly. Reception staff were fabulous, friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

Adele remained in touch and every set back remained positive we would get to experience the Cooks Oasis. A beautiful and well serviced property, amenities were brilliant. Can not wait to go back and stay there again.
