Spacious room, excellent service

Reviewed By 796rikap

We chose MIMARU to spend a relaxed Christmas indoors. The room is really spacious with super comfortable beds and a mountain of soft feather pillows (three per person!). There’s also a kitchen where you can cook your own meal or you can order delivery and pick it up at the front desk. You can relax in the wide bathtub and any amenities you might need are provided on the first floor. They have a really interesting project where they accept voluntary donations to devolve to the Flower Ring Project, which gives a new life to discarded flowers. There have seasonal rooms with special decorations (this month it was the Christmas room in collaboration with Awesome Store!) and the entrance, hall and rooftop were also beautifully decorated. The staff is really polite and friendly and will readily take a picture for you! The rooftop is open from 10:00 to 22:00 and at night the view is beautifully breathtaking. If you arrive at the hotel before check-in time at 15:00 the staff will kindly keep your luggage for you while you enjoy some sightseeing. This hotel is especially recommended if you travel in large groups (there are rooms for up to 8 people) or plan to stay for an extended period of time (the daily rate becomes sensibly cheaper with the weekly and monthly plans). The rooms are also perfect to enjoy a home party-like experience without the hassle of having to clean up afterwards! At MIMARU you will surely be able to create beautiful and precious memories with your loved ones!

Wonderful hotel - amazing service

Great hotel for the money

This is an incredible hotel with amazing breakfast. The money per what you get is worth it 1000%. I stayed at a different hotel in Shinjuku and that place was terrible and way more expensive. If we could do it all over again I would of stayed all the days in Tokyo in this lovely hotel.

Great stay

This hotel location is great as it is so close to the subway. A lot of stores banks and restaurants nearby. It is clean neat, staff helpful and friendly. Check in and out easy electronically. The room is comfortable but small if you have a lot of luggage or stay long, but as we were out all day it didn’t bother us much.

Hotel Monterey Akasaka

The hotel recreates the style of a London townhouse, combining classical elegance with modern practicality, ensuring the building blends in well with the plush surroundings of Aoyama-dori. In addition, the stylish grey and white facade, mixed with soft tones of limestone, provide a splendid contrast to the greenery around Akasaka. Meanwhile, the central location means that for business and leisure travellers alike, it is extremely convenient for access to the major hubs of Shibuya, Shinjuku and Tokyo Station. Please come and enjoy a relaxing and leisurely stay in the midst of the city.

Great location

Reviewed By zebedeesolive

My family stayed here because this hotel provides a crib for infants. We also wanted to stay in a nicer area of Tokyo that was central and well connected to the tourist spots via the subway. Also, I prefer to stay at a hotel that is nicely furnished and decorated but still budget friendly. This hotel perfectly met all of these criteria. The location is great if you want to be in a quiet, safe spot that is only a 5 min walk to all the busy side streets and restaurants. We had a great view of a shrine and the imperial residence complex across the street, and a police station is also next door. The room was comfortable and neat and recently sized for the 3 of us, especially for Japan. My only concerns were that the bathroom sink was plugged with hair (miad didn't do a good job of cleaning) and when I turned on the air conditioning my allergies started to get set off due to dust (dusty HVAC ducts). So they need to focus on keeping up with these maintainance issues. We opted for the buffet meal. It was delicious with a lot of options, but mostly of the traditional Japanese variety (which I didn't mind). It is rather a formal dining area with a great view overlooking the shrine across the street. If in the area, I recommend a short walk to Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho, which is a nice, modern shopping complex with lots of dining options. We saw at least 3 different subway lines in pretty close proximity to the hotel, so a great location to explore Tokyo from. I would definately stay here again.

the b akasaka-mitsuke

the b akasaka-mitsuke, is in the center of Akasaka's lively shopping, dining and entertainment district. Just a few minutes' walk from Akasaka-mitsuke subway station, it is also close walking distance to Akasaka Sacas Biz Tower and the Act Theatre. Close by is the Imperial Palace, the Diet Building and the shopping areas of Omote-Sando, Ginza and Shinjuku and Shibuya, with the entire city easily accessible.

Great location but poor facilities

InterContinental - ANA Tokyo, an IHG Hotel

ANA InterContinental Tokyo mirrors the rich diversity of this city. The dynamic buzz of the lobby calls to mind some of Tokyo's famous street scenes. The hotel's exceptional food experiences evoke the city's world-class dining reputation and the urban sophistication of Club InterContinental reflects the sanctuary to be found in the many local temples and shrines here. All this, whilst history is quietly being written inside its elegant Japanese banquet halls.

Dated hotel, not what I expected from an Intercontinental property.

Reviewed By ares2902019

I was in Japan on business and had to quarantine for two weeks upon arrival to meet government requirements. This meant I had to stay inside my hotel room for the entirety of the two weeks. Check in was fine. The staff was friendly. The room was very dated. It was something I would expect from a more run down holiday inn express, not a Intercontinental branded hotel. The chairs were so old one of them collapsed while I was sitting in it watching TV ( I weigh 165 lbs). When I made my reservation there was no option to select a modern room so I guess it's luck of the draw. I had to order out for my meals since I was required to stay in my room. I ordered three or four times from the hotel menu and was very disappointed in both the quality and quantity of the meals. I used Uber eats for the rest of my meals but the hotel charged a 500 yen "convenience fee" every time I had food delivered. This bothered me as it came across as a straight money grab taking advantage of my situation. I've been a platinum member with IHG for like 8 years but received no acknowledgement or benefits for being such. I was in Tokyo for three months for work. I had planned staying at the ANA for the entirety of my trip however after this experience I elected to move to the Hilton on Odaiba where I had a much better experience.

Location wise, stategic and closed by to Akasaka Station just few mins walk. Also there is a covenience store at lowest floor. Almost book another hotel cz didn't find this hotel yet during searching for accommodation. But, finally we don't regret our decision to stay here. Ps: there is a robot called papper who stand-by at lobby area to assist during stay if other staff are busy. I had nice convo with him lol Thank you very much, it was good experience to stay here! Hope to visiting again in the near future.

Good hotel

Reviewed By adamsG4270SC

I visited the hotel throughout the corona pandemic. Hotel is a well located new establishment with very quality rooms although small but nicely designed. Hotel staff helpful and attentive. My only complain is I paid cash and was attended by a French attendant. Unlike the way Japanese handle cash and count the change in-front of the customer to prevent any misunderstanding, on my case she did not count and handed the bills in one pack so I decided to count and to my surprise was missing a bill. I immediately point out to the fact and the attendant refund me the missing bill. As cash is done through a machine I was very surprised to find out the mistake. The following day I paid again with no issues and I Pointed out to the Japanese attendant to teach the French attendant to count the bills in front the customer. Apparently the attendant was standing behind the door and came out jumping on me that “I should not talk behind her back” and she already apologized to me. Well no god customer manners and the sudden jump just reinforced my thought that she did an intentional theft and not an honest mistake as those cash machine don’t do mistakes!! I strongly recommend you check when paying cash at this hotel and to the Managment I will defending say educate your staff since all the effort of building and managing a property can go down the drain because one human. And besides japanese are known for their honesty, why a foreign will come and work in such great country to ruin the standard!!

What a lovely little gem! We slept in and nearly missed breakfast, but staff were extremely gracious and allowed us to go in late, and boy, the breakfast was superb!!! A nice place with tons of little traditional and modern restaurants to choose from as well, and 5 min walk from the subway station.
