We had a great experience both times we visited the shop near Luxor Temple. All the merchandise is handmade and a lot of it by women working through community projects. With a fixed price there is no worry about having to barter. The prices are fair and most goes back into the community. We found many beautiful cotton and linen items as well as beautiful pottery with amazing detail. On one of our visits we met Ahmed Farrag who was in charge of the shop for the day. He was very conscientious and left us to look until we had questions. He also allowed us to step outside to see the colors of pottery and linen in the daylight. He was very knowledgeable about the shop and its merchandise and answered any question we had on the items with ease. Ahmed made our shopping experience relaxed and enjoyable. I agree with the other reviewer that this shop should not be missed, both because of its beautiful and artistic handmade items, and the communities that it supports.

A welcomed reprieve from the bustle and haggling of the bazaar. Habiba Gallery is a proper store selling quality products. Everything is marked, so no need to ask for the price or haggle. I bought a beautiful pair of earnings for US$2!

My friend Jackson took me here after I had purchased some goods (water, milk and orange juice) from a shop around the corner. She asked him how much should I have paid, I had paid considerably more. He was not happy that we had been treated this way and asked us which shop we had come from. He went to speak with the shopkeeper and got our money back. Saladin is a perfect gentleman, he didn't want us to have a bad opinion of Egyptian people from our experience. The next time I went there to buy water etc. I wanted to buy a knife to cut up lemons, he lent me one from his home and told me to return it at the end of my holiday ...... what more can I say ????

I was looking for exceptional silver jewellery for my dear friend birthday gift, and when I searched for the best jewellery store, I found a few places. After made a few phone calls, I decided to go to Nomad Gallery in Zamalek. When I arrived, they welcomed me very warmly, especially, the owner and his wife. Little that I know, it appears that Nomad has their own super talented artist or so I called jewellery designer! At that time, I was afraid that I could not find the best birthday present as I was looking for a unique design. But to my surprise, they assured me that they could prepare something special and offered me to make exceptional and unique silver jewellery specially customised for the gift. It was a fantastic experience for me as I was able to work together with the super talented jewellery designer and we created a unique design for my dearest friend. I have been in Cairo for over 2.5 years, and I must say that I am so glad that I finally found the BEST place that I can get all the exclusive and high-quality crafts including customized silver jewellery. The owner and his wife are amiable. I had a very warm welcomed from them, and most importantly, I got my special gift :-)) when my friend got it, she was so happy to get the unique jewellery! Today, 10 November, I went there again for other special orders, personally handcrafted silver jewellery. I am sharing a few of the pictures so that you know how special Nomad Gallery is. Our tour guide brought us to the Golden Bird Bazaar where we were each able to buy a personalized, one of a kind, hand-made Khartouche. The staff, especially the owner, Chico, were courteous, friendly and helpful in making selections that we will cherish for years to come. There were so many beautiful items to choose from it was hard to decide, but we were able to leave with many wonderful gifts for family and friends back home. Highly recommend this gift shop that has a relaxed and no pressure atmosphere.
